FIC: DAybreak Postponed (9A/12)
Due the circumstances, posts will be delayed a day or two. This is to keepappetities up. Not much but ...
It will maybe explain where/why this AU version diverges from Joss' Canon, and why Samantha is like she is.
Regards to all
Soren.
Oh, and
Save The Snippets !!!
TITLE: Daybreak Postponed [approximately] (9A/12)
AUTHOR: Soren Nyrond
DISCLAIMER: All characters in this part belong to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy -- etc etc as in part (0/12). Some ideas have been borrowed for elsewhere to illuminate this story: they did once belong to Other Companies (and still do, I imagine), but since they are by way of being generic concepts, Idon't think anything's awry.
SUMMARY: Boring exposition. Maybe a smidgen of Plot -- or Counterplot -- or Burial Plot. You decide.
ARCHIVING:: Talk to me -- there may need to be re-edits on some of the earlier parts of this, thanks to kind feedback.
SPOILERS: None - none of this ever happened in the ME-world
AUTHOR'S NOTES: Molto gratitude for the nice feedback, guys.
INTERLUDE
"So you found nothing."
"Nothing, Quen - Mr. Travers."
"What about Miss Rose ?"
"She has not been seen since this morning's meeting. Of course, since she was there after the students had left, Miss Jennings cannot be held directly accountable for her charge's whereabouts."
"Did you work that out for yourself, Godfrey, or was that what she told you ?"
"I - I used my discretion."
"You guessed. Still, it matters not - Miss Jennings' participation is an essential part of tonight's work. She has too fluent a habit ofasking questions."
"And the Slayer - Samantha Rose -- ?"
"I had hoped that she would participate . indeed, I had envisaged that she might Embrace the Dark Side in a very physical way.
"You've never had a Slayer to mentor, have you, Godfrey ? No, of course not - I brought you here, for far more important reasons. I havenever understood the rationale, but it appears that the girls who are called as potential Slayers have to pay a price for access to the heightened senses and reactions a Slayer requires. Often this comes as a diminution, oran alteration, in their mental processes. In Faith Spencer's case, she lost the will to distinguish between right and wrong: her world became one ruled by expediency. In Buffy Summers, it manifested as the loss of her respect for authority: as a Slayer, she questions every order given her, ratherthat trusting her elders to guide her."
"And Saman - Miss Rose ?"
"She would appear to have lost a quantum of her moral inhibitions - I believe the phrase is - or was, since I think it will have come frombefore your time, Godfrey - 'If It Feels Good, Do It'." And she would appear, from reports, to be a remarkably energetic young lady."
