About a minute later Willow and Buffy reached the elevator and 
Buffy pushed the up button to summon an elevator.A few seconds later 
they heard a feminine scream of NO!!! that was cutoff suddenly.Willow 
looked up when a set of lights above them started flickering.Willow 
said Buffy i think we had better use the stairs instead of the 
elevator.Buffy said why and Willow said quickening and then pointed 
up to the lights.Buffy looked at the lights that were still 
flickering.Buffy instantly realized what Willow meant and she grabbed 
hold of Willow's hand and said lets get out of here.Buffy and Willow 
ran for the stairwell which was about fifteen feet away.They had just 
entered the stairwell Buffy slamming the door shut behind them when 
the lightning bolts started shooting out hitting everything 
nearby.Buffy followed Willow up the flight of stairs but yelled for 
her to stop when she had reached the second level.Willow who was 
several stairs above heard looked at Buffy and she said Buffy we have 
to get out of here.Buffy said Xander and Anya are to meet us on the 
second level after they get the montana.Willow walked down the few 
stairs and over to Buffy who she hugged.Buffy said Willow you 
shouldnt have gone to fight Felicia without me.Willow said a 
challenge is one on one you know that Buffy and anyway she really 
pissed me off royally by threatening Xander,Anya,and their unborn 
daughter.Buffy said it pissed me off too when i heard about it but 
her challenging you was what really took the cake as far as i am 
concerned.Willow said well we wont have to worry about her anymore 
and Buffy said yes and she got lucky that she lost to him because i 
would have used her as a sparring partner for a couple months before 
taking her head.

Willow and Buffy walked out of the stairwell and they sat down 
beside the door knowing that it would take Xander and Anya a little 
while to get to the montana and drive it down to the second 
level.Buffy said Willow i know that the challenges are one on one but 
from now on i would like to be there to at least watch the fights and 
to make sure that it is a one on one fight.Willow said ok but only if 
that goes both ways and Buffy said i would have it no other way.

About four minutes later Xander and Anya pulled up to them in the 
montana.Buffy and Willow got to their feet and they walked over to it 
and climbed in.Buffy said hey how did you two get here so quick i 
thought it would take you at least another ten minutes to arrive.Anya 
said i had Xander go get the Montana while i headed for the elevator 
and waited for him on the first level.Buffy said Anya i thought i 
told you both to stick together.Xander said you did but we thought it 
might be better if we got the hell away from the mall as soon as 
possible.Willow said Xander is right Buffy and anyway Anya is armed 
just like us so she could easily handle any normal situation.

Anya said Willow tell us what happened dont keep us in 
suspense.Buffy pulled the door shut and she said get us out of here 
and we will tell you on the way home.Xander put the montana into 
drive and he headed for the ramp that led to the parking garage's 
exit.

Willow was about to start telling Anya and Xander what had happened 
when the immortal who had wanted to be the one to kill Felicia 
stepped out from behind a van and stopped right in the center of the 
lane.Xander slammed on the brakes and after putting the Montana into 
park he started to open the driver's door to get out.Buffy stopped 
him and said Xander he is immortal.Anya said oh no not again.Willow 
said i will go see what he wants and Buffy said no we will go see 
what he wants.Willow and Buffy climbed out of the montana and they 
walked toward him.When they were about seven feet away from him Buffy 
said what do you want.The man reached under his coat and pulled out a 
sword.Willow recognized Felicia's sword and she said certainly you 
dont want to fight one of us with that sword.The man said my name is 
Vargas do either of you intend to challenge me.Buffy said we have no 
intention of challenging anyone unless we are forced to.The man said 
thats good to hear i would hate to have to kill both of you.Buffy 
said do you really think you could kill one of us much less 
both.Vargas said oh yes i am very sure i could after all i was born 
over a millenia ago.Buffy said sir you may be over a thousand years 
old but we have had ten teachers and seven of them are over also a 
thousand years old.Vargas was surprised by this and he was who were 
your teachers.Willow said our teachers are Ramirez,Rebecca,
Amanda,Cassandra,Xena,Gabrielle,Duncan McCleod,Connor McCleod,
Methos,and Richie Ryan.Vargas said your joking and Buffy said no she 
is not and we have a picture of us with them we can show you if you 
dont believe us.Willow pulled out a picture and she said here see for 
yourself and she held it out to him.Vargas stepped forward and he 
took the picture and looked at it after retreating a couple 
steps.Vargas couldnt believe his eyes but then he said Felicia made a 
big mistake trying to come after you.Buffy said we told her who are 
teachers were and even showed her that picture.Vargas said then 
Felicia had finally had gone over the edge no one in their right mind 
would challenge either of you if they had been aware of who your 
teachers are.Vargas held out the picture and Buffy took it from 
him.Willow said why did you stop us if you didnt want to challenge 
us.Vargas said i stopped you because i wanted to offer you Felicia's 
sword since you allowed me to avenge my friends who she killed.Willow 
said no i do not want it it has spilt too much blood and has too much 
bad karma attached to it.Buffy said i am with her and if you are wise 
you will either get rid of that sword or lock it up someplace where 
no one like Felicia will get a hold of it.Vargas said i intend to do 
just that i have a special display case in my trophy vault for this 
sword.Buffy said Vargas i suggest you leave Sunnydale as soon as you 
can.Vargas said why is there another immortal besides the three of us 
in town.Willow said no we are the only immortals but this town sits a 
top a hellmouth and there are demons and vampires.Vargas said fucking 
shit and then he said why do you two stay here.Willow said its our 
home and we and our friends do our best to keep this town safe for 
people to live in.Vargas said goodbye to them and then he headed for 
where he had left his car.

When Buffy and Willow climbed back into the montana Anya said what 
did he want.Buffy said he wanted to see if either of us wanted 
Felicia's sword but we both told him no.Xander said Willow tell us 
what happened after you left to go fight Felicia.Willow said i will 
tell you just get us out of here i dont want to be anywhere near here 
when her body is found.Xander put the montana into drive and headed 
for the exit.

Willow said i went down to the third level to fight Felicia as you 
expect.Anya said you dont look hurt and Willow said Felicia didnt get 
a chance to hurt me but i did hurt her.Willow said after threats were 
made she swung at me and i easily dodged it and then hit her with a 
spin kick to the kidneys.Xander said ouch.Willow said she tried to 
act more hurt than she was to lure me in but of course i didnt buy it 
for a second.Buffy said when she got to her feet Felicia tried the 
Sunstin technique against Willow.Anya said dont you both know that 
technique and Willow said yes Duncan taught it to us and he also 
showed us its weakness which Felicia must not have known about.Buffy 
said what do you mean and Willow said she said the technique was 
unbeatable too bad for her she was wrong.

Xander said guys i am both glad that you are immortal but i just 
wish you wouldnt have to play the damn assine game.Buffy said Xander 
both me and Willow feel the same way and if there was a way to end 
the game we would do it in a heartbeat.Buffy looked at Willow and she 
said Willow i dont know if i could go on without you.Willow said i 
feel the same way about you.Anya said its too bad there isnt a way to 
end the game and Buffy said yeah it is.That got Willow thinking and 
then she remebered what the member of the ptb who had showed up at 
Alcatraz had told them.Willow said guys there might be a way to end 
the game.Buffy and Anya both turned to look at Willow and Xander 
slammed on the brakes before turning around as well.Buffy said what 
do you mean and Xander said yeah tell us.Willow said before i tell 
you lets get out of the middle of the road before we get in trouble 
with those behind us or the cops.

Xander drove over to a nearby grocery store parking lot and he 
parked the montana in a parking space.Anya said ok dont keep us in 
suspense any longer.Willow said i do not know a way to stop the game 
but i believe there must be a way.Buffy said what do you mean.Willow 
said think back to when we were on Alcatraz and Xander said do we 
have to.Willow said one of the ptb appeared to us and if you will 
remeber she said that immortals,kindred,nightwalkers,and all others 
who supported good would be needed in the future.Anya said yeah i 
remeber that but what does that have to do with anything.Willow said 
well according to my caculations if the game goes on as it has in the 
past there will be only one or two immortals left in less than two 
hundred years from now.Buffy yelled what and Xander said are you sure 
of this.Willow said yes i used my computer to recheck my caculations 
several times.Anya said i dont understand.Willow said there must be a 
way to end the game if immortals are to be in the future when they 
are needed.Xander said so all we have to do is to figure out how to 
stop the game.Willow said yes but we are going to need help to do 
it.Anya said hey why dont we go to Los Angeles and ask the Oracles 
about how to stop the game.Xander said good thinking Anya and then he 
said next stop Los Angeles.Buffy said uh guys we cant go to Los 
Angeles today.Willow said why not.Buffy said Xena called the estate 
today and arranged a meeting between us and some nightwalkers who are 
investigating several massacres that have taken place in 
Canada.Xander said why do they want to meet with us if the massacres 
have taken place in Canada.Buffy said they believe the massacres were 
committed by demon vampires so they just want to see if we can give 
them any information that they dont already know.Willow said when is 
the meeting and Buffy said seven thirty tonight.Willow said there is 
no way we can get to Los Angeles,talk to the oracles,and get back to 
Sunnydale by then so we will just have to wait until tommorrow to go 
there.Xander said ok we will leave for Los Angeles in the morning 
bright and early.Anya said uh uh i wont be fit to go anywhere until 
at least ten o'clock and you guys arent going without me.
