About twelve o'clock Vachon and Urs landed in an alley on the other 
side of the street from the Raven.They quickly made their way across 
the street after checking to make sure no one had seen them land.When 
they walked into the Raven Vachon asked the vampire standing guard 
standing on the right side of the entrance where Lacroix was.Milton 
said he is up in the sound booth doing tonight's radio show.Urs said 
is Nick or Jeannette here and Milton said Nick isnt but Jeannette is 
around here somewhere.Vachon said we will find her faster if we split 
up.Urs said ok but whoever finds her leads her over to the bar.

Vachon and Urs split up and after a couple minutes Urs bumped into a 
waitress and she asked her if she had seen Jeannette.The waitress 
said she is in the ladies room powdering her nose.Urs immedietly 
headed for the ladies bathroom and on the way she bumped into Vachon 
who was still looking for her.Urs said Vachon go over to the bar and 
wait for us i just found out she is in indisposed i will go get her 
and bring her over to the bar.Vachon nodded his head and then headed 
for the bar.

When Urs walked into the bathroom she didnt see Jeannette but she 
still called out her name.One of the doors to a stall opened up and 
Jeannette walked out of it.Jeannette looked at Urs and said you and 
Vachon didnt have a hard time finding where you were to meet Grace 
and Jill and give them the case.Urs said no we had no problem finding 
the meeting place but a problem did come up tonight.Jeannette held up 
her hand when the door to the ladies room opened up and two women 
walked in laughing.Jeannette said come on and Urs followed her out of 
the ladies room.When they walked out of the ladies room Jeannette 
said lets go into one of the back rooms and talk where we wont be 
disturbed and no one can listen in.Urs said let me go get Vachon and 
Jeannette said where is he.Urs said he is over at the bar.Jeannette 
looked over at the bar and she spotted the woman who was now Nick's 
partner standing in front of Vachon talking to him.Jeannette said it 
looks like he has his hands full at present so lets just have this 
talk between us.

Urs followed Jeannette into one of the backrooms and she shut the 
door behind her.Jeannette sat down and after pouring herself a drink 
from a bottle she picked up off a shelf she said what is this problem 
that came up tonight.Urs said on the way to meet us Grace and Jill 
came upon seven dead bodies in a small clearing about a half mile 
from the ski resort.Jeannette said that is no problem Dr.Lambert and 
the others can just collect them and do what they are doing with the 
others.Urs said no Jeannette they cant because it wasnt human 
vampires who fed off the bodies.Jeannette said you mean animal 
vampires and Urs said no they arent normal animal vampires.Jeannette 
jumped to her feet right out of the chair and she said you do not 
mean some kind of demon animal.Urs said demon dogs to be specific.The 
next second Jeannette's right hand hit a table breaking it in half 
instantly.Jeannette said we nightwalkers and the kindred both made 
sure to wipe out all the kinds of demon animals that existed 
centuries ago and forbid anymore to be made so how is this 
possible.Urs said the demon vampires who committed the massacres must 
have found a way to create them because the demon dogs are traveling 
with them.Jeannette said we must inform Lacroix and the elders 
immedietly.Urs said i believe that Jill and Grace have most likely 
already sent word to the enforcers about the demon dogs which means 
the elders would also know.Jeannette said that still leaves Lacroix 
and we must send word to Nicholas as well.Urs said if you will tell 
Lacroix i will go to the police station and inform Nick.Jeannette 
said no you must stay here Lacroix may wish to speak to you and 
Vachon and i can tell Nicholas the terrible news over the phone.

Vachon had just sat down at the bar when Tracy walked up behind 
him.Tracy said so this is where you have been i have been looking all 
over town for you in the last couple of hours.Vachon jumped about an 
inch off the barstool when he heard Tracy's voice.Vachon turned to 
face Tracy and he said Tracy what are you doing here i have told you 
more than fifteen times that this place isnt safe for you.Tracy said 
Vachon said i dont care i need to talk to you about something very 
important.Vachon said ok lets go over to a booth at least there we 
will have a bit of privacy.When they got to the booth Tracy looked 
around to see if anyone was watching them.Tracy said Vachon i am not 
sure if you or the others know about this but there was a massacre 
committed up at a ski lodge west of Toronto.Vachon was about to say 
something when he spotted an enforcer in the next booth and he could 
tell he wasnt the only one.Vachon said of course i have heard of the 
massacre it isnt like something that big couldnt be kept secret not 
even by the police.Tracy said Vachon be serious.Vachon said Tracy i 
am completely serious i heard about the massacre and i am terribly 
shocked by it just like you must be.Tracy was getting fed up with the 
runaround and she was about to say something when she got a slight 
kick on her right leg by Vachon.Tracy looked at him and was about to 
ask him why the hell he had kicked her and why he wouldnt level with 
her when she saw his eyes glance to the side of her.The next second 
the hairs on the back of her neck stood straight up and she knew that 
someone in the next booth was listening to their conversation.Vachon 
said Tracy i think you need to get back to work your Captain wont 
take kindly to you hanging out in a club that serves alcohol when you 
are on duty.Tracy said your right i have to get back to work i bet my 
partner is looking for me.

The enforcers waited until Tracy had left the club before getting up 
and walking over to the booth Vachon was still seated at.An enforcer 
said you did a good job of keeping the conversation away from the 
massacres and not give any information away.Vachon said enforcers i 
just returned from delivering a case to Jill and Grace along with Urs 
and we were told some very bad news by Jill and Grace.The youngest 
looking elder said what did they tell you that is very bad 
news.Vachon said the demon vampires have a pack of seven demon dogs 
with them.The three enforcers were shocked by the news and one of 
them said are you sure of this.Vachon said I am certain that is what 
we were told and Grace is of the Arborean clan.The youngest looking 
enforcer said that means that it is true and we must inform the 
elders immedietly.Vachon said Jill said she would call and give the 
information to some enforcers as soon as they got back to the ski 
lodge so the elders might already know.An elder said there is no harm 
in just making sure and then the three enforcers walked a few feet 
away.A minute later one enforcer headed for the exit while the other 
two just seperated so they could watch the crowd inside the raven 
more closely in case some of the demon vampire who committed the 
massacres showed up.

Nick was sitting at his desk going over a copy of the information 
that Natalie had faxed to the station right before sundown.Nick was 
almost to the last page when the phone on his desk rang.Nick picked 
it up and said Detective Knight speaking how may i be of 
assistance.Nick immedietly recognized Jeannette's voice and he said 
Jeannette its nice to be hearing from you but i wasnt expecting to 
hear from you so soon.Jeannette said Nicholas some new news has come 
to light tonight we need to discuss it with our father please come to 
the raven as soon as you can.Nick said i will be there in a few 
minutes and then he hung up the phone.Nick quickly pretended to 
glance over the last few pages but in reality he was reading it with 
vampire speed.Nick got up a minute later and he headed for the exit 
after putting on his coat and getting his gun from his desk drawer. 

When Nick reached the Raven he parked his car across the street and 
then jogged over to the entrance.Jeannette was waiting for him near 
the front door and she said come on Lacroix has to go back on the 
radio in a few minutes so we must tell him the news quickly.Nick said 
what news and Jeannette said you will hear it at the same time as 
Lacroix.When Jeannette,Urs,Vachon,and Nick all walked into the sound 
booth Lacroix said well lets hurry up and have this meeting because i 
need to get back on the air in about eight minutes.Jeannette said Urs 
tell Lacroix and Nicholas what you told me.Urs said when me and 
Vachon went to deliver the blood we were met by Jill and Grace but 
they had some terrible news which we hadnt known before.Nick said 
what did they find out that could be so bad.Vachon said the secret of 
how to create demon dogs is no longer a lost secret.Lacroix was on 
his feet with one hand around Vachon's throat and he said what do you 
mean by that.Urs said according to Jill and Grace they found seven 
bodies about a half mile from the ski resort that had been fed off of 
demon dogs.Nick said damn i thought we would never see such monsters 
ever again.Lacroix said you were not alone in that way of thinking 
Nicholas and that is why both the nightwalkers and kindred both made 
the creation of such things forbidden.Jeannette said it seems that 
these demon vampires accidentally found out how to do it and they 
created a pack of them.Lacroix said exactly how many of them are 
there.Vachon said seven bodies mean seven demon dogs.
