FIC: Royalty Redux (Epilogue)

Title: Royalty Redux

Notes: The rewrite of the classic B/W story Royalty, the story that set
the stage for the epic Two Worlds story and made any of the characters
that are still around and kicking in Prophecy's Twilight. 
Relative to the show, this takes place after the events of Graduation,
so those are still in continuity while, but I have taken some liberties
and this is very much an alternate universe story.
Summary: Buffy finds herself in San Francisco looking for Willow, but
the young witch has gone missing, both of them struggle with their
emerging affection for each other and new enemies. Along for the ride
are Spike, Giles, Anya and Xander, every single one of them with a
mission of their own.




Epilogue 1: Prince William Blood


The entire group was gathered around the meeting table in the armory of
Daniel's mansion. The subject was the future.
"They want me to be Prince until Daniel recovers," Spike said to the
people gathered around the table.
"Spike that's great," Willow exclaimed. 
"You want our permission?" Giles asked.
"Yes since you're my allies and all that," Spike said off-handedly.
"Spike this city needs you more than Sunnydale ever will," Buffy said.
"Why thank you," Spike retorted.
"No I didn't mean it like that. You could do so much more here," Buffy
said.
"You're welcome to visit from time to time," Spike said his throat
feeling tight all of a sudden.
"Of course we will, you're family," Xander stated.
"Spike?" Anya asked after a moments silence and blood tear ran down
Spike's cheek, so Willow went over and hugged him.
"Spike don't cry," she said.
"I can't stop it. Bloody hell I need a shrink," he cursed with a smile.
"And you lot are paying for her," he added with a laugh.


Epilogue 2: Rupert Giles


Buffy sneaked into Giles' room to find him packing his belongings, she
waited before he'd finished packing before speaking.
"So you're leaving?" she said as she leant against the doorpost.
"Just for the summer," Giles answered.
"Why?" Buffy asked.
"I need to know more," Giles said and then he hugged Buffy. "Don't worry
Faith is proving herself and Wesley is getting better," he added in a
reassuring voice.
"Maybe I should retire then," Buffy said with a smile.
"Nothing would make me happier," he said, broke away and bent down to
pick up his case.
"No let me," she said and picked it up.
Once they were at the door they found everyone waiting for them.
"Hope you weren't planning on leaving without saying good bye," Spike
said. Giles spared him a comment on how one couldn't see where the white
suit ended and Spike began.
"Of course not," he stated and hugged them one and all. The watched him
speed off on one of Daniel's bikes unsure when they'd see their
distinguished English gentleman again.
"So why did Viktor kidnap the Prince and attack me?" Buffy asked when
Giles had vanished into the night.
"Power. He wanted my job," Spike answered.
"So no grand plot to end the world?" Xander asked.
"No he just wanted to be Prince," Spike said.
"He could have just settle for Symbol or The Artist." Buffy said and
then just shrugged at the glares she got.


Epilogue 3: Willow and Buffy


Willow stood on the balconies looking over the city. Buffy walked up
behind her and placed her arms around her.
"Come back to bed," she said and kissed Willow's neck.
"In a minute just have to do something first," Willow said and produced
the crystal. Buffy closed her fist over it and Willow placed her hand
over Buffy's and they squeezed until it broke.
"The past," Buffy whispered into Willow's ear as the red pieces of glass
fell the ground.
"I love you," Willow said in a trembling voice.
"And I love you," Buffy said with a smile.
"I can't stay you know that?" Willow said.
"Yes," Buffy said as she picked her up. "But we've time and I want to
make the most of it," she said with a grin.
"I've wanted this for so long," Willow murmured as Buffy laid her on the
bed.
"Two hours are a long time now?" Buffy asked as she started trailing
kisses down her throat. Both knew happiness that night and new paths had
been chosen and somewhere a soul yet to be born was smiling
