Fic: A Chance of A Lifetime - Chapter 5
Disclaimer: Joss owns show. I just own my perverse sense of humor.
Chapter 5: The Meeting
After I left the magic shop I went to the car I rented. It was there
I realized I had no idea where Willow's club was. So I waited. Well
not exactly waited. I called Charlie and asked him about this Anya
person. He couldn't find much. It was like she hadn't existed before
the late 1990's. I mean everyone has a record, even if they don't
know about it. First of all there's a birth certificate, then there's
a drivers licence, Hell theres even a social security number. Anya
didn't seem to have any of these. Well she did, but according to
Charles, they were fakes. Well placed, well done fakes (actually I
think the term he used was masterfull) but still fakes.
I also asked him to locate Willow's club. It didn't take him long to
find it. I was glad he did. The last thing I wanted to do was follow
Anya. She seemed weird to me, and that's saying something.
Well it was nearly three o'clock when I walked into Willow's club
which was called "The Coven." (What is it with these people and
magic?) I had just entered the club when I saw a woman practicing
kick boxing. I watched her for a long time staying hidden in the
shadows. She was amazing. I had never seen anyone fight like she
did.
"We're closed."
It took me a moment to register the voice. The woman was talking to
me.
"Yes.. I'm sorry. I know. I'm?"
Damn something about this woman made me studder like a schoolgirl.
"We'll be open at nine." The woman smiled.
"I'm a reporter." I finally said.
Suddenly the woman's face turned an odd shade. Her eyes grew dark.
As a matter of fact her entire body grew dark.
"Get out!"
"But?."
"I said GET OUT!"
"I just want to ask you a few questions." I paused for only a second,
"About Cordelia Chase."
"What do you want to know about her?"
"Well?. I interview her and I am doing a background piece. You and
her were friends?"
The woman laughed. It was strange seeing emotion from her.
"Hardly. More like enemies."
That surprised me, "How so?"
"Look, I don't know who you are?."
"Willow is there something wrong."
I turned around and saw a blonde haird woman come down the stairs. If
the woman in front of me was intimidating (and she was) the blonde was
twice?no make that ten times as so.
"Nothing I can't handle, Buff." Willow smiled, "Just someone wanting
to know about Cordelia."
"Don't be too mean." Buffy smiled back. "We both know you're just as
proud of her as the rest of us."
"Go back to sleep, Buffy." Willow pouted, "We have a late night."
"Don't we always." Buffy smiled and then walked back up stairs but
not before giving me a look that could make Marine pee in his pants.
"I just want to ask a few questions, then I'll leave?"
Willow frowned and then walked to where the bar was located and got
herself a drink. She offered me one but I declined.
"What do you want to know?"
I had a million questions running through my head. I wanted to ask
them all at once. But something inside me told me to be careful.
There was something off. There was something?.. I wasn't sure but I
knew that I had to be careful. If I wanted to find out anything from
Willow Rosenburg, I had to be very very carefull.
Something told me my life just might depend on it.
