I got the feeling at the end of "The Gift" that
Buffy was being selfish in sacrificing herself
instead of letting Dawn do it. For one, she
didn't seem to care so much about living after
everything that happened in season 5. I missed
the entire middle of season 5, so I can't say for
sure, though. Also, from a logical standpoint,
wouldn't it be better to sacrifice the "key" so
that no one like Glory could come along and try
to use it for evil purposes again? So, I say she
was being a little selfish as well; even though I
can understand not wanting to let her sister die.
