A Meeting of Minds (1/?)
This is one I wrote for another forum. It may just be a fragment,
since I have no clue where it goes next, but you never know...
A Meeting of Minds
Drusilla eyed the little porcelin victorian doll suspiciously.
"I don't like it here, miss Charlotte. It's too sharp and smells of
blueness. The Moon warned me not to come, but I didn't listen to
her."
She paused and cocked her head, as though listening to a response.
"well, she does lie a lot. And it is a thursday... I think. Isn't
it?"
Drusilla pondered this for a little while. Then suddenly she turned
as she caught a small sound. She could make out a second figure,
black in the darkness.
"Who's there? Miss Charlotte is liable to get all unhappy unless you
come out where I can see you. I might have to rip your throat out."
"Actually," she continued, as a new thought wandered into her head,
"I might do that anyway."
The figure stepped into a shaft of moonlight, which reflected
highlights of deep red in her hair.
"Eww." Said Drusilla, making a face as she recognised the other,
"You're that nasty one. The Slayer's little puppy dog girl. What do
you want here, Willow?"
The other sighed.
"Are you a white hat or a black hat?" She said, moving sinously
toward her, moonlight glinting off tight black leather.
"There are too many white hats here. It's all very boring."
"Are you boring?" Said vampire Willow "or would you like to play a
game?"
"What are you?" Said Dusilla, "You're not Willow. You don't feel
like willow. You're too spiky and red inside."
"I could be Willow for you." Said the vampire, stretching out a hand
to stroke Drusilla's cheek lightly. "would you like me to be Willow?"
The lopsided smile was Willow's, but there was ice behind it. And
claws.
Drusilla backed away.
"I don't think I like you. The Moon told me not to come, but I
didn't listen."
"You're not a white hat, are you? What are you good for, then?
Lunch?"
As she said the final words, Willow's face contorted into a vampire
mask, Fangs gaping.
Drusilla hissed and vamped up too, which halted Willow's predatory
advance. They circled each other slowly, hands raised like claws.
"Why did you call me here?" demanded Willow.
"She didn't." A voice came from the shadows, "I did."
