General feedback and excuses

Ok, so here I am, feeling like three kinds of idiot, 'coz my 'puter decided
to mangle its OS forcing me to do the dreaded fo...for...(bugger, I can't
even say it. You know, begins with f-o and ends with a-t) and recover,
thereby losing EVERY damn thing on my hard drive, including ALL the saved
mails from the list going back to November of last year <sob>. Helllooo
<bangs self upside head> can you say BACKUP?? You can bet Willow's cute
little butt <drool> that I won't do *that* again. Anyway, I've basically
been unable to read or send anything since the middle of October. Now that
things are working again, I'm playing catch-up. I'm gonna start with fics
received after I got the infernal machine up and running, then try to work
my way back through the archives. Onward.

Inell,
Little White Lies: Gooood mush. Loved Wills getting all girly for her first
date with Buffy. Her worries over not telling the gang about their new
relationship were nicely overshadowed by her anticipation of actually going
out with the Slayer. Liked her feelings about Faith as well. Definitely want
more.

Kirayoshi,
This one gave me the sniffles. The description of Buffy's feelings about her
life (or lack thereof) after her resurrection was right on. No wonder she
was dangerously depressed. Having Willow be possessed by a demon was a
satisfying way of explaining her behavior post resurrection (a lot better,
I'm afraid, than the show will be). I loved the character of Father
O'Rourke. He represents everything I personally believe a representative of
*any* faith should be: caring, compassionate, and above all, willing to help
anyone who need it, regardless of their own beliefs. As a confirmed
agnostic, I have little use for (or knowledge of, for that matter) any
organized religion, and, at first, I was a little put off at the quoting of
scripture. But then I realized that this was simply a man using the tools of
his trade to fight for the good. It wouldn't have mattered if he had been a
minister, a rabbi, a mullah, a pagan high priest, whatever. The point was,
there was something bad that needed to be fixed, and he helped fix it. If
you weren't so busy with Defenders of the Night (hint, hint) this could be
the beginning of an interesting series.

Aeris,
Just how many different series are you working on at the same time? Tireseus
is coming along nicely, although the body count is getting a bit on the icky
side. (Roasted on the engine block? Eeewww, that's gotta hurt). Black Widow
Chronicles sounds very cool. The first meeting between Buffy and the Widow
should be veerrry interesting. If it follows Marvel tradition, there should
be one heck of a knock-down dragout before things start to get straightened
out. Looks like fun.

dap,
I don't really know what to say about Half a World Away. The concept of
Willow suffering from acute depression is just so alien to any image I have
of the Wiccan that it's a bit of a stretch to wrap my head around it. (No
comments from the peanut gallery, if you please <g>). Nevertheless, the
story is intriguing, and I'm looking forward to seeing how our girls deal
with the problem.

Bill and Kerry,
Ok, I was wrong, Ramirez was working for...the NSA?? That came right out of
left field and throws a whole new slant on the story. Unless....you're
feeding us the proverbial scarlet baby mackerel, in which case...<drum roll,
please>...I own stock in the Road Kill Cafe...BWAAHAHAHAHA...<ahem>...sorry,
couldn't resist. Where was I...oh yeah...glad to see Xander being the voice
of reason between Giles, Joyce, and Willow, as well as being there for Dawn.
Meanwhile, back in the EU, Faith's rescued Beth (or rather cave-Beth), but
with her evac blown to hell and gone what happens now? And I was really
bummed that Taylor didn't make it, but he did go out the way he would have
wanted to. Can't wait to see what you two come up with next.

Anne-Lise and Fox,
The look on Willows face...oh lordy, I haven't laughed that hard in a long
time. I have no idea how you're going to deal with Buffy's return, but I'm
willing to bet good money that I'll be in stitches when you do. As an aside,
how about a wallpaper featuring all three of our lovely ladies? I'll leave
it up to you to determine the naughtiness factor <eg>.

Mad Hamlet,
Triumverate, huh. Why do I get the image of the three of you, dressed in
togas, reclining on velvet couches, being fed peeled grapes by a pair of
scantily-clad servants (who oddly resemble a certain blonde and redhead we
all know), gleefully plotting new ways to raise the list's collective blood
pressure. Great manip. It would make a really cool wallpaper.

That's all for now, but...<ok, enough with the cheering...sheesh, some
people>...I'll try to get more feedback out soonest.

thoth
