OT: Recent Events on BtVS

Okay, for our overseas compatriots, I'm including a little spoiler space before
I begin my discussion.

That should do. Considering I usually read mail on a maximized 1024 x 768
resolution, most "spoiler space" isn't long enough for me. Not that I really
care, but...

Getting back on topic here. Has anyone noticed some of the signs on the show we
love and adore enough to write fic about?

1) Spike. First, he pins Xander to a tree outside Buffy's house and... no
reaction! The chip doesn't hurt him. We get further evidence of this in "Once
More With Feeling," when he assaults the priest in the graveyard - not to
mention the rest of the funeral guests. Can we say "RUN!" if he ever figures
this out (which, according to previews, starts to happen on the Nov. 13
episode)?

2) Willow. Um, much as I love our dear redhead, she's lost it. Completely. The
nervous breakdown is six seconds away, and after that... let's just say I have
an inkling of what she's going through. Except she has the power of a
Demi-Goddess. Season 7 Big Bad looking more and more likely.

3) Amy. Coming back on the Nov. 20 episode. What does she remember from being a
rat? Does she know everything that's happened? Will she encourage Willow to
continue on her path? Will she ask Willow to "do spells" with her?

4) Buffy. Got smoochie with Spike. About to tell him to fuck off. Um... hasn't
Buffy always had a realtionship going on during some part of each season? Who's
going to step up? Xander? Not likely, though with his wedding jitters you never
know. Tara's available, but do they want to risk further possible alienation by
making Buffy gay (or bi) in canon? Well, this IS Joss we're speaking of...

5) Tara. Amber's only scheduled for 16 episodes, and this week marks number 7
(yes, the season premier counted as two). Does this mean she's going to leave
before the end, or just not appear in a few episodes? Only time will tell, but
I'd hate to not have Amber around. ESPECIALLY after the musical. When she did
the Rocky Horror Picture Show Anniversary with Tony, she sounded okay. But
OMWF... Goddess above, what a set of pipes! And they're getting her a highly
complimentary wardrobe to boot (yeah, like YOU weren't staring at her cleavage
when she was laying on the bed).

6) Johnathan/The Triumvirate. Okay, these guys have the ability to cause some
serious problems... if they took themselves seriously enough. I have a feeling
it'll be a lot like season 4, where one mild annoyance (Dr. Walsh) is
responsible for unleashing the REAL Big Bad (Adam). What they're going to some
up with though... no idea.

Okay, that's my handful of pennies for now. Back to college homework (and,
Goddess permitting, fic over the break before Spring Semester).
