Okay...
I walked through the night with the sky dark as wine,
amongst graves and in alleys I found I spent my time
dreaming of Willow, wishing she could be mine;
A girl with the face of an angel.
Through good times and bad she has stood by my side
never knowing the feelings I once hid deep inside.
I've tried to deny them, but since the time that I died
I felt that I owed her the truth...
So I built up my courage and I asked her to dance
with a hope that romance would lead into her pants;
But my plans, they were dashed, I had not a chance
as Tara guessed my intention.
They packed in the morn, left me here on my own
except for my sister, I felt so alone.
My own fault I guess, for if only I'd known
Tara was going back home for Christmas...
And the radio plays...
Now the lamp's burning low upon my table top,
the snow is softly falling.
And the air's so still within the silence of my room
as I hear your voice softly calling.
If I could only have you near
to breathe a sigh or two,
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
upon this winter night with you.
The smoke is rising in the shadows overhead,
my glass is almost empty.
I read again between the lines on the page,
the words of love that you sent me.
If I could know within my heart
that you were lonely too,
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
upon this winter night with you
The fire's dying low now, my lamp's growing dim,
the shades of the night are lifting.
The morning light steals across my windowpane
where webs of snow are drifting...
If I could only have you near
to breathe a sigh or two,
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
upon this winter night with you...
To be once again with you...
The sudden knock on the door breaks my reverie,
and I leap from my chair in order to see
who could be calling just to see me...?
Is it Willow back from the pasture?
But the black swirling coat frames a face I knew well:
A vampire disgrace, I feel I should tell
him to vacate this place and go back to Hell,
But something in his eyes holds me back...
"I'm free from restraint! I'm again the Big Bad!
So let us to business, there's fun to be had!
The chip's out of my head, now aren't you glad?"
He asks, with a sneer on his lips.
So I invite him in, wave him on deep inside;
Praise his good fortune and flatter his pride.
With a smile on my lips, that's how he died;
A stake driven right through his heart.
So I'll raise a glass to good tidings of Yule
with Anya and Xander, and tales of his tool.
Tell the sad tale of Spike, I know they'll find it cool
on this, my loneliest Christmas...
When late on the eve I hear bells overhead,
and I stare for a moment before I leap from my bed.
Could it be Father Christmas? I thought he was dead
in the beartrap I laid out last year...
And indeed on my roof are a reindeer and sleigh,
illegally parked but what can I say?
And holding a parcel in the first rays of day
stands the woman I know that I love.
I take the gift from her hands and unwrap it there
on the snow-covered roof in the cool Winter's air.
Inside the box lies an answer to my prayers;
a note from the hands of an angel.
'Dear Buffy', it reads in bright letters of gold,
'I love you!', it ends, as daring and bold.
A blush covers her cheeks as we kiss in the cold.
Just me, and my magical santa...
"Tara's left me", she tells me, eager to chat
as she lays down beside me (naked but for the hat)
"Moved from breasts on to udders, can you imagine that?
Though I bet she gets milked much more often."
As we snuggle and huggle and cuddle and kiss,
I muse on my life and this new state of bliss...
>From the Hell I came back to, its turned into this;
Merry Christmas... and a happy new year!
Merry Christmas,
and a happy new year!
