Re: Feedback for "Dark Fic"

Great, I tell her how wonderful she is and she wonders if I liked the fic or not.

Hello? Oodles of praise and you think it's just for the articulation of the piece? Hardly. I appreciate a good Angst fic just as much as the next person; it was good. Even for the brevity of it (that's just me; I feel the need to write epic chapters), you developed the situation and made the end results believable. We still have a great number of writers (who sell books in stores) who can't even manage that much.

Personally? It reminds me of Poppy Z. Brite, though she deals more with "timber sharing" than we do here. Dark, bloody, gets your blood flowing... all that's missing are the vampires. Oooh! I smell... oh, wait, that's just my cat.

Anyway, I've found one undeniable truth: the more you think about writing, the less you get done. Throw on some headphones, let the ideas flow, get a good structure developed, THEN go back and change nuances and flesh things out. Tends to work pretty well... which I should be doing instead of reading the small contingent of e-mail I have in my Inbox.

Until... whenever,

Phoen Dusk
