Re: FIC (sort of): Where there's fire?

At 02:48 PM 2/25/02 -0800, you wrote:

This season has fallen into the trap of only giving characters scenes
with their s.o. or primary focus. Just Buffy/Spike, Willow/Tara,
Xander/Anya, Buffy/Giles, Buffy/Dawn, for the most part.

And increasingly Buffy/Tara, for some odd reason. Maybe it's so that Willow turning to Buffy will be all the more angsty? We can hope. :)

Heck, as far as I can tell, Spike hasn't spoken a single word to Dawn
since he saw Buffy alive in "After Life". So much for the S/D dynamic.

Ah, for the good old days, when Spike was a *character*. He's becoming flatter than "Cap'n Cardboard" Riley ever was.

Also, there have been Anya/Spike scenes, and Anya/Tara scenes. (no
Anya/Riley, though).

Well, to be fair, Anya was afraid of all things Initiative. And it's not like it was a particularly irrational fear--look what they did to Oz. If they learned she was over a thousand years old, who knows what kind of knowledge-pumping activities they'd have in store.

And aside from the punch he planted on her in "Family", "Older and Far
Away" contains the first actual Spike/Tara interaction we've seen. What
the hey, it's only been 48 eps since Tara appeared on the show, can't
rush these things.

Ooh, hadn't thought of that one. I think maybe the writers are leaving a lot to our imagination in terms of the character's friendships--I mean, theoretically they all held together while Buffy was dead (as they were *all* out slaying vamps together, sans Dawn, in Becoming.) But we never got to *see* it.

Well, let's just say it was as real as David Boreanaz's accent, okay?

Thanks for the kind words, and sorry about the slightly OT ramble.

Willow: Oh, rambles aren't a bad thing either. I mean, I ramble--really I babble, but a babble is kind of like a ramble, but more babble-y. Where a ramble goes from side to side, but a babble goes up and down, 'cause b is for babble and bouncy, and anyway, babbling--or rambling if you prefer--is just fine, I mean, as long as you don't forget anything or get distracted or...

Buffy: Will, if we're not going to play could you untie me now?

Willow: Eek! Sorry!
