The lack of ALL Scooby interaction this season has really upset me. The show has turned into the Passive-Aggressive-Self-Destructive-Buffy-And-Spike-Porn-Hour and I'm frankly sick of it. With the exception of Willow, no other character has really had a large storyline this season, and there have been more than a few instances where Xander, Anya, and Dawn got about five minutes of screen time between them. But that's a horse of a very different color.
I for one didn't like the Magic=Drugs story line the first place. I'm pretty sure we all got it. Marti Noxon has been about as subtle as a blinking neon sign lately. I also think it's increadibly stupid to say "Oh, Willow got too involved in magick, can't ever use it, ever again, even if she's saved our asses on more than one occasion." Especially with Giles, the only other person who was semi-literate in magicks gone, Willow's all they have when they need their mojo-workin. We all of course know Anya was doing spells powerful enough to turn people into trolls BEFORE she became a vengeance demon, but they never seem to address the possibility SHE might be able to do some once in awhile.
And what REALLY got me, above all else, is the complete lack of focus on Buffy and Willow's friendship. We've gotten a few moments, but I really feel they should explore it deeper. Buffy told TARA about she and Spike. Willow is hanging out with Dawn more than Buffy. What happened? They live in the same house and we can't see more than a casual conversation between them?
So, most of this made no sense, bc I get overly emotional, but dammit you forced me.
