Well I can't say I loved it, but I didn't hate it either.

There were some funny parts that I really enjoyed, haven't seen much comedy
of any type since 'Tabula Rasa'. Same writer so I shouldn't be surprised.
Buffy doing the demon charades was funny, as was Anya talking about putting
sex poodle in her vows.

I actually didn't get pissed at Buffy at all during this episode, that's a
first I think all season She seemed more like her normal self for the first
time in a long time. Maybe it's because she's without Spike for the first
time in a long time. Well actually I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it is.

Xander is talking to the demon guy who showed him the 'future', and the guy
said to him that sometimes some people only bring each other pain, and it's
for the best that they stay apart. Then we cut straight to the B/S scene.
It's nice to know that all Spike and Buffy do to each other is painful. But
it didn't help the fact that their scene wasn't anything remotely harsh.
They were, gasp, nice to each other! Eek! I can't say that made me feel
better about them being over. But then again, Buffy seems more herself again
without Spike, and she seemed to still want to stick to staying away from
him. That has to count for something. Or maybe I'm just in denial.

As for the Willow/Tara stuff, I wasn't loving it. Willow was supposed to be
the 'best man', yet she's in with the bride and Buffy is with the groom?
That was a bit backwards. Will just wanted to be around Tara :(. I find it
interesting that the first scene that has W/T not being quite so awkward with
each other comes from the same writer who originally split them up. I didn't
quite get the sucking up vibe from Will that Dan has talked about recently,
but I can't say I loved the coy little smiles either lol.

As for Xander and Anya, I was really trying to be mad at Xander for breaking
Anya's heart. But thinking about it, he did it for her own good, he did it
cause he didn't want to physically hurt her. Now granted his logic is a
little warped because his father is abusive, but he still gets points for
wanting to protect her. Although it didn't help the fact that Anya almost had
me crying with her. Emma did a great job of looking heartbroken. Her best
performance since 'the Body' last year IMO

As for our girls, they did get their own scene together this week, at least
until Anya came in and broke it up. But notice they were both in Buffy's
bedroom, changing together :D OK, my mind is in the gutter yet again, but it
was nice seeing them act a bit more like their old selves. But then again,
when is Willow more worried about her outfit than Buffy? I mean I love
Willow, but of the two of them, Buffy has always been the more fashion
conscious. Anyway, it was cute how Willow and Buffy were working together to
make sure Anya didn't know Xander left, Buffy stalls, Willow finds Xander :)

Lastly, was it me, or did anyone else get a Buffy/Xander vibe off this ep? I
kept getting the feeling that they are trying to set something up. The way
Buffy was tying, or attempting to tie his bowtie. Or the mentions in the
false future about Buffy coming between Anya and Xander. I just kept getting
little inklings. So who knows, maybe they broke Xander and Anya up to pair
Buffy and Xander. Another double EEK! While it would be nice for Buffy to
end up with someone that has been there from the very beginning, I really,
REALLY don't want it to be Xander. A certain quirky redhead I think would be
a much better choice :)

Also, the B/S ships seem to be on this kick that Buffy might end up pregnant.
We did have the two consecutive 'glowing' remarks, once to Xander and once
to Buffy. It does make one wonder. But would Joss really do that with both
of his shows in the same season? Although I'm starting to question
everything I used to know about the writing for Buffy :(

Anyway, overall not a bad ep. I generally like Rebecca Rand Kirchner's
writing, even if this one did end on quite the depressing note
