Faith looked at Angel and said dont you want to find out why they 
broke into our rooms and took some of our stuff.Angel said Faith its 
pretty plain to understand that they wanted to disarm us by taking 
away our weapons.Buffy said I agree with Angel about that but that 
brings up the question of why they left the note.Willow said it is 
in our best interests to find out whether the note was a threat or a 
warning.Angel said ok i see your point but we must act quickly 
because sunrise is in less than three and a half hours.

The next second Faith sensed something and she looked over at Buffy 
and she said are you feeling what i am.Buffy nodded her head and 
then she said guys we got a problem more vampires just arrived and 
are approaching the entrance we came through.Angel looked back 
toward the floor they had just came from and he said we cant go back 
on that floor.Willow said we have two choices either we go up to the 
roof or down to the second floor.Cordelia said we cant go to the 
roof that would give them too much open space to attack from and 
either the sound of our guns or the flashes from them would attract 
the attention of the police.Willow said we cant risk getting the 
police's attention because none of us have permits for the H&K 
MP5's.Buffy said ok lets head to the second floor and hope that we 
can find someway to get out of here without having a full out gun 
battle.

They went down to the second floor and Faith took a few moments to 
rig a quick bobytrap to the second stairwell door using a piece of 
rope and a couple flash bang grenades.Once Faith was done they 
started moving down the hall slowly.A moment later Buffy said damn 
more vampires are approaching and there is a large number of 
them.Angel said oh shit this place must be a crib.Buffy and the 
others looked at Angel and Willow said what do you mean.Angel said a 
crib is what a home for a group of vampires is called.Faith said 
that means there could be even more vampires on the way.Angel said 
yes and then he said Buffy Faith how many vampires do you sense in 
or approaching the building.Faith said there are about fifty or so 
in the building and about twelve more approaching but they are a 
couple minutes away even at the speed they fly.Faith said thats 
about what i count.Angel closed his eyes and he said with a building 
of this size and with three floors there could easily be between a 
hundred and two hundred vamps living here.Willow said i dont know 
about you but i say we get the hell out of here through any means 
neccessary lets forget about finding out any information from these 
guys.Angel said we can have Xena and some others find out for 
us.Faith said but how can we get out of here they most likely have 
all the exits on the first floor covered.Angel said we will just 
have to force our way out.

Angel said here is how we will do it.Angel said we will toss all 
the remaining flash bang grenades down a stairwell to hopefully 
incompacitate the vampires guarding it and then we run down the 
stairs making a rush for the closest exit.When they got to a 
stairwell Angel snuck up and peeked over the railing wall.Angel 
didnt see or hear any vampires in the stairwell but upon a closer 
look he saw that the door to the first floor stairwell was 
shut.Angel went back to the others and he said there are no vampires 
in the stairwell but the door to the first floor is shut so ther 
could be some right outside it.Faith said oh there are definitely 
some vampires right below us but not too many.Angel said ok we will 
use the flash bangs to stun them and Faith you shoot any that are 
still on their feet with the tranquilizer pistol.They made their way 
down to the first floor's stairwell door and Angel counted to three 
before trying to open the door.

The door didnt budge and a second later they heard some laughter 
and one guys said hey dumb asses this door is wielded shut you have 
to find some other way down and those are all covered.Angel,
Cordelia,and Faith all started cursing.Buffy said hey lets go look 
for another way out as fast as we can before we get pinned down in 
this stairwell with no way out.The next second they heard a loud 
bang noise come from upstairs.Faith said i guess that some of the 
vampires set off the bobytrap.Buffy said come on lets go and 
she,Cordelia,Angel,and Faith started walking up the stairs.Willow 
said hold on guys we can still get out through this entrance.
Cordelia said Willow the door is wielded shut if you didnt hear them 
we cant open it.Willow said we cant open it but i most definitely 
can with a little bit of magic.Willow said be prepared the throw the 
flash bangs as soon as the door is out of the way and then cover 
your eyes and ears so the grenades would harm any of us.

Willow held out her hands both toward the doorway and after 
spinning them around several times she pulled them towrd her and 
then shot them back out toward the door.The next second the door 
flew off the hinges taking some of the doorway with it.The door and 
parts of the doorway hit the wall on the other side of the 
hall.Angel,Cordelia,Buffy,and Faith tossed the remaining flash bang 
grenades out into the hallway and then all five of them turned to 
face away from the hallway and covered their ears.After the 
flashbang grenades had gone off they all walked out of the 
stairwell.They saw that most of the vampires were unconcious or 
dazed but Faith shot each of them with a tranquilizer dart just to 
make sure that they didnt leave any possible attackers behind them.

Angel looked around and he said there is an exit at the end of the 
hallway and it looks to be clear.Buffy said there are vampires 
upstairs heading down but if we hurry and get lucky we may make it 
to the exit.They didnt waste anytime they all took off running for 
the exit.They were almost to the exit when they heard a yell from 
behind them and Faith came to a sudden stop yelling out shit when 
she saw several shadow approaching the exit they were heading for 
from the outside.Angel saw this but he pushed Faith forward and said 
come on we can try to rush past them before they know what is 
happening.They were about six feet from the doors when they opened 
and fourteen people entered the building.Buffy,Willow,Angel,and the 
others recognized Xena,Gabrielle,and the twelve enforcers who they 
were with.

Xena said come here and they all walked up to them.Xena said you 
should have waited for us and allowed us to help you.Willow said we 
would have but we didnt know when you two would be back or if the 
note that was left was a threat or a warning.Gabrielle said what do 
you mean by warning.Angel said when Willow read the note she pointed 
out that the note could be meant as a warning as well as a threat.
Gabrielle pulled out the note which she had brought with her and she 
reread it.Gabrielle said damn it could be considered a warning and 
Willow said yes and we werent sure who we could trust besides you 
and Xena.Xena said i dont understand.Faith said the note could have 
been a warning that someone or some group meant us harm and some of 
these guys just let us know while taking our weapons.Xena said they 
didnt damage the swords did they and Buffy said no they didnt.

A number of vampires had appeared and they walked up to them as a 
group.One vampire said enforcers turn them over to us they broke 
into our home so by the code it should be us who punishes 
them.Lassiter said they are the presently guests of the community 
therefore they can not be harmed.Another vampire said so your just 
going to let them get away with coming into our home and attacking 
us.Xena looked at Buffy and the others and she said did you attack 
anyone.Buffy said we didnt lay a hand on any vampires but we did use 
some flash bang grenades against them.Faith said i also shot several 
of them with tranquilizer darts down by a stairwell further down the 
hall.Lassiter said it seems none of you were hurt and they wouldnt 
have come here if things hadnt been taken from their motel rooms and 
brought here.The vampire in charge of the crib said what are you 
taking about.Willow said me and Buffy's swords as well as all of our 
guns and most other weapons were taken from our room and we 
retrieved them from a room upstairs.A vampire said i dont believe 
you because if it was true you wouldnt have known where to find your 
weapons and please dont say that you stumbled upon our home.Angel 
said my friend Willow is a wiccan and she placed a tracer spell on 
her and Buffy's swords so they could be able to find them if they 
ever got seperated from them.

The leader of the crib said do you have any proof to support what 
you say.Gabrielle said well there is a note that was left in one of 
their motel rooms and she handed it to the leader.The leader read 
the note and he recognized the handwriting.The leader said is that 
all you have and Angel said no this knife was pinning the note to 
the bathroom door of my motel room and he handed it to the 
leader.The leader looked at the enforcers and he said enforcers i 
would like to punish those responsible for this myself since i am in 
charge of this crib.Lassiter said that will be acceptable and now we 
will be leaving.Buffy said wait before we leave i want to know if 
what was written on the note was a threat or a warning.Xena said 
Buffy of course it was a threat but the situation has been handled 
and there is nothing to worry about.Angel said come on guys lets not 
cause any waves up here we are there guests after all.

When they walked out of the building Xena said where did you leave 
your vechicles.Cordelia said they are a block down that way.Xena 
said ok we will see you back at the motel and she and Gabrielle 
headed for their car while the enforcers took to the air.

When they got back to the vechicles they placed most of the weapons 
back in the duffel bags before putting them inside the car.Cordelia 
said i guess we are going back to the motel after all.Angel said no 
we are going to stick to the plan Buffy made because the motel is 
still unsafe place for us.Willow said we need to stash most of the 
weapons someplace safe where we can get to them quickly if we need 
them.They all got in or on the vechicles and took off down the 
road.After a few minutes they came in sight of a bus station and 
Buffy signalled Cordelia and Faith to pull into the bus station's 
parking lot.As Buffy got off her motorcycle Cordelia asked her why 
they had stopped at a bus station.Buffy said we are going to place 
the duffel bags into some of the storage lockers inside the bus 
station.Angel said good thinking and then he started pulling the 
duffel bags out of the car.They walked into the bus station each 
carrying a duffel bag and made their way over to the storage 
lockers.After inserting money into several of the lockers they 
placed the duffel bags inside them and removed the keys so they 
could get them when they wanted to.

After leaving the bus station they all headed for the police 
station where Buffy and Willow had been taken.Cordelia pulled her 
car right up to the curb in front of the police station so Angel 
could get out.Angel climbed out but before shutting the door he said 
you guys call me every couple hours so i know that your safe and 
Cordelia said we will.

Angel walked into the police station and after showing his permit 
for the pistols he was armed with to the cops he asked to see 
Detective Knight.A desk sergeant said hold on i will call him down 
here and she picked up the phone and dialed an extension.Two minutes 
later Nick walked up to Angel and he said what are you doing here.In 
gaelic Angel said i need a safe place to stay and the motel doesnt 
fit my needs anymore.Nick said what happened did you have a fight 
with your friends.Angel said no our rooms were broken into and 
things were taken which we retrieved but we know the motel isnt a 
safe place for us to stay.Nick said you didnt hurt anyone and Angel 
said no and the enforcers already straightened the matter out so you 
dont have to worry about that.Nick said so you came to see if you 
could stay with me.Angel said that was Buffy's idea and its a good 
one since the community will know where i am and i will definitely 
be safe from any hotheads.Nick said well i guess it is in the best 
interests of the community for you to stay with me so consider 
yourself my guest.Nick said it will be about another hour before i 
get off duty so why dont you come upstairs and relax until 
then.Angel said fine with me and he followed Nick upstairs.They were 
halfway up the stairs when Nick suddenly wondered where Buffy and 
the others were staying if they werent going back to the motel.Nick 
turned to Angel and in Gaelic he asked him where Buffy and the 
others were staying.Angel said they are going to stay at a temple in 
Chinatown but i wont say which one.

When Buffy and the others got to chinatown they had to stop and ask 
for directions to the shaolin temple.Several chinese people just 
shook their heads or waved their hands signalling them to leave them 
alone.Buffy walked up to Cordelia and the others and she said damn 
this is going to be harder than i thought.Willow said why dont we 
try asking for where we can find the Ancient or Kwai Chang Caine 
maybe that will help us find where the Shaolin temple is.Buffy said 
its worth a try and then she walked over to a chinese woman.In 
Cantonese she asked for directions to the home of the Ancient or 
Kwai Chang Caine.The woman turned to face Buffy and he said why do 
you ask for directions to their homes.Buffy said me and my friends 
need help and we believe they can help us.The woman said tell me who 
you are and i will see to it that they are told that you need their 
help.Buffy said tell them that two of those who fight that of the 
night,the white lily spirit,and a seer need their help they will 
know who we are.The woman nodded her head and then she walked away 
from them.Several minutes later the woman returned and she said go 
across the street and wait by the fountain if they wish to see you 
they will come to you.

About thirty minutes later Kwai Chang Caine walked up to them and 
he greeted Buffy and Willow.Buffy introduced Faith and Cordelia to 
him and vice versa.Kwai Chang Caine said how can me or the ancient 
be of help to you.Willow said last night our motel rooms were broken 
into and things were taken and we need a safe place to stay.Caine 
said what was taken from you.Buffy said our swords and guns but we 
already retrieved them from those who took them.Kwai Chang Caine 
said i can arrange for you to have an apartment to stay in for the 
rest of your visit here.Faith said we were hoping to stay at the 
Shaolin temple.Kwai Chang Caine said that is not possible the 
Shaolin temple is a place dedicated to learning not a fortress where 
people can come to be safe.Buffy said we understand and we will take 
the apartment but is there a chance you can suggest a place where me 
and my friends can get a proper workout.Kwai Chang Caine said why do 
you ask me for this.Willow said because Rupert Giles who was Buffy's 
watcher before he was fired and she broke ties to the council is a 
stickler for keeping us working out.Caine said working out is good 
and will keep you prepared for whatever you may encounter.Buffy said 
yes but me and Willow havent been working out since we have been up 
here and when we go back he will be able to tell this if we dont 
catch up on our workouts.Caine smiled and he said i will take you to 
the Shaolin temple for your workouts but you will have to stay in 
the apartment since you are not students at the temple.

About sunrise Xena and Gabrielle who had been waiting for Buffy and 
the others to return went to the room Buffy and Willow shared.After 
knocking on the door and not getting an answer after a minute Xena 
pulled out a set of lock picks and unlocked the door.Gabrielle 
called out to them as she entered but a moment later she knew that 
they werent there.Gabrielle said where could they be they have had 
more than enough time to get back here.Xena said i dont know but 
lets wait for them.Gabrielle said i will be back in a minute i have 
to go to the bathroom.A minute and a half later Gabrielle was 
walking out of the bathroom when she glanced into the closet which 
she was passing.Gabrielle stopped after seeing the closet completely 
empty and she turned around and looked at the rest of the bedroom 
before returning to the bathroom.A moment later Gabrielle ran out of 
the bedroom and she said Xena all of Buffy and Willow's clothes and 
other stuff is gone.Xena got to her feet and she said come on lets 
go checkout Angel,Cordelia,and Faith's rooms.

After finding that all four motel rooms were completely empty of 
Buffy and the others clothes and stuff Xena and Gabrielle headed 
back to their motel room.Xena said where the hell could they have 
gone and why didnt they tell us they werent coming back 
here.Gabrielle thought a moment and then she said i guess that they 
felt that the motel wasnt a safe place for them so they went 
someplace they think they will be safe.Xena said damn them this is 
the safest place for them because we are staying here and the 
enforcers are patrolling the motel to make sure no more unauthorized 
visits are made to their rooms.Gabrielle said we had better contact 
Michelle and left her pass the news onto her team of enforcers as 
well as the elders.
