Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 23:10:41 EST Hey gang, here's the next part for you. I'm a little hesistant to post this part because I'm not really happy with it. I feel it's a bit disjointed and repetitive at parts. But I guess I'll let you guys be the judge of that.
Huh!! what a silly sausage you are! Once again your story has fantastic characterisation and a completely believable dialog, and there's nothing at all repetitive or disjointed about it.
Isn't it usually when you ask someone about what's wrong, often you're asking them about something you didn't REALLY want to know about, Buffy asking and Willow saying '... me and Tara ...' when Buffy's been thinking about Willow for a long time, that could be soul destroying, and you have to do the 'stoic thing' and be supportive, I really felt for Buffy there.
And the innocence or not of handholding, of what it might mean depending on who it's with, a very good subtexty metaphor for your deeper feelings for someone, with Willow saying that THEY too held hands before Tara came along, and then seeing that the couple you watched develop from friendship into love may not have truly been as solid as you at first thought. Meantime Willow dumps the clue to how she feels about Buffy, and Buffy misses the cue, great characterisation.
And then when Buffy finally says IT, she still doesn't come outright and say those three wonderful words ... she maintains the metaphor by wrapping something she said in her own true feelings, the '... falling for Willow ...' line, and then saying it without truly saying it, that she's in love with Willow. And now they both know, finally! I find the pulse racing and the breathing quickening as I try to anticipate how Willow is going to react in part 4, and I can't hold my breath that long! hurry up please before I turn blue and explode!
