OT: What the Yahell is this?
Ahh, got to love the parade of vintage posts, dontcha? (See, Stef, I
told you the list was still busy--they were just saving it up for us)
On some of the matters touched on:
DEM, thanks for pointing out that I could delete that Spoiler post.
Taken care of, and now I'll know how to handle such things in the
future. Of course, everyone here knows to insert Spoiler Space when
appropriate, so there aren't going to be any such problems from no on?
(hey, no law against optimism)
Do you really feel the W/T 'ships would have a collective kitten (sorry,
couldn't resist) over B/W? Yes, they love Tara, but presumably they
also love Willow and the positive portrayal of lesbian romance, so I
don't think they could be entirely devastated to see those become the
central romantic element of the show. (Gotta think the recent past is
somewhat annoying to them--Buffy/Spike were passionate lovers despite
beating the holy crap out of each other, while W/T broke up over their
second argument ever; the comparison seems to be an implicit criticism
of the f/f relationship.) Well, I suppose I should go to the Kitten
Board and try to find an appropriate thread rather than try to read the
W/Ters' minds. Heck, even Willow doesn't do telepathy any more?
And the final count on Tara and "love" is once positively ("After
Life"), once angrily ("All the Way"), once in song (oh, come on, guess
which ep), and once agreeing with someone else's statement ("Smashed").
I was going to put the last one in the same category with Buffy's "Tell
me about it" when Riley waxes poetic in "The Yoko Factor", but Tara's is
a stronger statement, since it's an unambiguous response to a direct
question. And yes, it's interesting it's all this year. (Wonder if
someone on the staff looked at the tapes of S5 and noticed Tara never
says anything on the subject?)
