Okay, some good ideas here, so let me formalize the challenge:

In honor of our impending crossing of the 1000-member threshhold, write
a fic that centers on either fanfiction or the number 1000.  

This neatly incorporates Kirayoshi's songfic challenge, Stef's
Buffy-as-the-thousandth-Slayer idea (I can believe the First Slayer was
from 5000 years ago, and 5 years seems like an acceptable average Slayer
term, despite the difficulties Buffy's had along the way), and Aeris's
fanfic idea.

However, if you do the fanfic thing, please avoid fourth-wall,
quasi-archive-fic stuff where B/W know they're on a TV show or
something. It is, however, perfectly okay for Willow to discover
Xander's interest in T'Pol/Hoshi fics and write something similar about
her and Buffy, disguising them as characters on some TV show, or
something like that. Also, if you want to do a Sarah/Aly fic, then you
could have them be brought together by BtVS fic, or a similar concept.
I just would like to steer clear of something so self-referential as
"Hey, Buffy, look at the fics people are writing about us!"

So there we have it. Let's do something nice, in honor of member #1000,
whomever he or she may be?
