I think I first realized that Willow was more than just the 'best friend' 
figure in Buffy's life was when I saw Becoming Part 2. Even when Buffy's 
life was falling apart(the blow-up with her mother, her expulsion, having to 
face Angelus one more time, Giles' kidnapping and torture), and even though 
she had just emerged from her coma, Willow was still determined to help 
Buffy, no matter the cost. Never fight the Resolve Face.

Shortly after Season Three, I first got online, and discovered the joys of 
fanfiction. When I first stumbled on the Pink Rabbit site, I discovered Pat 
Kelly's "Two of a Kind Love" series, and that's when it dawned on me that 
Buffy and Willow would make a great couple.

No matter what has happened in the past or will happen in the future between 
these two, Buffy's relationship with Willow is the most important bond she 
has ever forged. If the rumors at the beginning of Season Six pointed to 
Xander turning evil, would we care as much? No, I don't think so. Willow is 
Buffy's anchor, her moral compass, her soul and her strength. Buffy needs 
Willow. Buffy minus Willow equals half-a-Buffy. It's as simple as that.
