In Each Generation

We all need a hero,
But who can that be?
Who will save us?
Who will rescue me?

Then out of the darkness
Quicker than light
A hero has come
Ready to fight

She is the slayer
Agile and quick
Vampyres beware
Or she'll get you with the pointy end of the stick

And who is that with her
Her band of merry men
No not really
It's just the Scooby gang

They help her rid the world of evil
The nasty things that plagues us all
And when the world needs saving
The slayer is ready for the call

She will risk her life
Day in and day out
But people forget to thank her
For they forget what life is really about

The slayer gave her life
And once more we are safe
But without our hero
We all feel out of place

Her best friend Willow
Always there by her side
A hacker and witch
But full of gay pride

Her partner Tara
Is quite nervous and shy
A noble witch
Readies to open her wings and fly

Then we have Xander
A funny little man
Experiencing the world
As best as he can

His girlfriend Anya
Scares me the most
For when she talks about sex
I'm afraid she'll start humping a post

Then there is Giles
The noble watcher
But from time to time
He seemed more like a father

Now here is Spike
A bad ass to compare
He is in love with the slayer
But never gets his fair share

Finally we have Dawn
Better known as the key
The slayer gave her life
So her sister could be free

And now to the slayer
Better known as Buffy
Be careful guys
No, she isn't fluffy

No one can forget
The sacrifice she made
And no one will forget her
Or the price she paid

My hero is gone
As I lay a rose on her grave
Knowing that what she did
Is so we can be safe

The world will be lost
Till that faithful day
When the slayer will return
And there will be hell to pay

For in each generation
There is a slayer
And if she keeps her friends close
She'll only get better
