Actually, you'd be surprised who my friends are... :>

Hopefully now that Marti Noxon is too self-focused (advanced 
pregnancy) she'll hand over the reins to someone who doesn't want to 
turn Buffy into a soapbox for her soap-opera writing career.

What makes Buffy great is angst. And we're not feeling the angst. The 
mixture of pain, action and comedy is what I love about Buffy, and 
shagging Spike doesn't emote a whole lot of pain.

Now check out Angel, which I think is going from strength to 
strength. Its not relying on comedy, pain or action, but keeping the 
blend.

And it so works.

I'm writing Joss later to tell him to get his butt back to the Buffy 
studios, let Firefly lie for a short while, and pull back the yoke 
before Buffy turns into Scooby Doo.
