I wasn't actually taking that big a swipe at "JAG" (which, due to an
obvious scheduling conflict, I don't know that much about). I was just
casting about for something that's been running longer than "Buffy", and
which no one has ever suggested is the best thing on the air. If
"Walker, Texas Ranger" or "Nash Bridges" or "Diagnosis: Murder" was
still going, they would have been more apt examples.

I'm sure "J.A.G." tries to consistently put on entertaining hours of
television, and, for all I know, succeeds. (As I'm sure fans of the
other series I mentioned would argue they did--although in at least one
case, I'd dispute that hotly.) I've enjoyed many a show that aimed no
higher than that, myself.
