okay, another thing about the Buffy-Dawn bonding. Does anyone really 
CARE?! The whole thing is just a lame twist on the tired "new child in 
the family" cliche that immediately proceeds The Jumping of the Shark. 
It didn't work for Growing Pains, it barely worked for Cosby, and it 
certainly didn't help Ms McBeal. If the "cute kid" gambit didn't work 
on shows that were ALL ABOUT Family Life [tm], why does ME persist in 
thinking it'll work for BtVS? Dawn's sole purpose this year is to be 
Buffy's Family, and if they thought B-D could substitute for Joyce-
Buffy, they were sorely mistaken. And don't even get me started on the 
whole "biological family vs. non-traditional family" bias inherent in 
such thinking.

Wait, one more thing! I had a seriously catty moment when Tara was 
talking about living in the dorm vs living with a family. I was all 
like, they ain't yo family, bitch! Step back! I know that's mean, but 
the thoughts came unbidden, I swear!
