When Buffy and the others walked out of the apartment they saw Kwai 
Chang Caine sitting beneath a small tree that was in front of the 
apartment.They all saw that he was playing a wooden flute and several 
birds of different types were on the branches of the small tree or on 
the ground around him.Willow shushed the others telling them that she 
wanted to hear him play.

Caine sensed Faith and the others as they exited the apartment but 
he continued to play the tune because he wasnt one not to finish 
something that he had started.When the tune was over Caine slid the 
flute into the bag at his side and then stood up.Willow walked 
forward and she said that was a beautifull tune.Cordelia stepped up 
beside Willow and she said yes it is but i have never heard anything 
like it before.Caine said it is a tune i created years ago while i 
was traveling around.Cordelia said what do you call it.Caine said i 
have not nor shall i ever name it for it like nature is fleeting and 
cannot be properly named.

Caine said come on we have a long day ahead of us and the sooner we 
start the sooner you will be finished.They all started walking toward 
the shaolin temple with Caine in the lead.Buffy said Caine will our 
workout today be like the one we had yesterday.Caine said no it will 
be quite different.Cordelia said how will it be different.Caine said 
yesterday I and my fellow priests were watching to see what each of 
your strengths and weaknesses were and that is what you will be 
working on today.Faith said you mean we will be working to strengthen 
our individual weaknesses.Caine said yes you will be doing that but 
you will also be working on your strengths as well for their is 
always room to improve on them.Willow said will we be working 
together or seperate.Caine said some parts of your workout will be 
done together while other parts will be done separately.

Caine said the first thing you four will do once we reach the temple 
is to go through what you would call a sort of obstacle 
course.Cordelia said why do we need to go through an obstacle course 
and how can we workout going through one.Buffy said Cordelia from the 
impression i got it isnt the type of obstacle course your thinking 
about.Caine said you are quite correct Buffy.Caine said the obstacle 
course is one which i,my fellow priests,and our students go through 
to sharpen our abilities.Willow said that means we will definitely 
have a workout getting through it.Faith said what kind of obstacles 
will we be encountering in it.Caine said well there are a number of 
traps,and other obstacles which you must work together to overcome 
and then there is the groups of shaolin students and priests who you 
must also get past.Buffy said i take it that none of them will be 
armed.Caine said well none on the first level will be but those on 
the levels above will be.Cordelia said how are we supposed to fight 
armed shaolin students and priests.Caine said there will be weapons 
provided for you at the beginning of the second level as well as 
every so far.Caine said the object of the obstacle course is to get 
to the top level,ring the gong three times,and then make it back 
downstairs together.

Faith looked at Cordelia and she said i can already feel the aches 
and pains we are going to have on top of those we already 
have.Cordelia looked at Faith and she said excuse me but i am the 
only one still feeling the aches and pains of yesterdays 
workout.Cordelia continued on saying both Buffy and Willow are 
already over them since the are immortal and your slayer abilities 
does the same thing for you.Willow said Cordelia me,Buffy,and Faith's 
wounds and bruises may be healed and gone but we still feel the aches 
and pains of yesterday's workout.Buffy said she speaks the truth 
Cordelia but as Ramirez and the others say aches and pains drive the 
ideas home.

When they got to the temple Caine led them to a hallway that was the 
beginning of the obstacle course.Caine looked at them and he said you 
should stretch and warm up completely before you start on the 
obstacle course.Buffy said we will and Caine said while your doing 
that i will confer with my fellow priests.

A few minutes later Caine walked back up to Buffy and the 
others.Caine said Buffy i have just been reminded that there is a 
religious festival tommorrow that I and my fellow priests have to 
attend to so we will not be able to give you a workout tommorrow.
Buffy said that is fine me and the others will be able to entertain 
ourselves tommorrow.Buffy said we may even decide to come watch the 
festival if that is allowed.
