Re: OT: Hunter's Ranting--SPOILER warning

Hi.

Just a caution, but Hunter's previous post appears to contain a SPOILER
regarding Willow's future. It might just be speculation, but since it
hasn't happened on the show yet, and the rather non-speculative verb
"is" was used, it smelt spoilerish to me.

Folks, we've only got six and quarter hours to go before North America
is safe from spoilers; let's be good, okay?

And, no, Carol's original post was not a spoiler post; she was using
the spacing because of the DISCUSSION of "Villains" and the "Angel" ep
"Tomorrow" in her post.

(Btw, thanks for the personalized Spoiler Space, Carol. Although it was
only 18-19 lines...okay, I'm kidding, put that down! Please?<g>)

On a non-spoiler front, I must say I am enthralled by the concept of Oz
as the "puppy-dog" boyfriend who doesn't push the closeted lesbian
sexually. Since I am a W/X 'shipper as well, I tend to think that
Willow did love Xander and at least had affection and desire for Oz
(Buffy is gay to the bone, but I find Willow's arc very bi), but
certainly his function on the show was to be the "safe" boyfriend and I
can see how that would resonate with lesbian viewers. And the use of
the "puppy dog" phrase is cutely apt.

Personally, though, I see the people in Willow's life as stops on a
journey:

Xander: discovering love/feelings
Oz: discovering relationships/sex
Tara: learning that it's okay to be bi/lesbian
Buffy: destiny

Oh, and does this mean that VampWillow's torture of the Angel/"Puppy" in
the WishVerse was indicating that Willow had a lot of repressed anger
towards Oz, since he was the means of repressing her true sexuality?
Gee, maybe the guy's lucky it took her as long as it did to contemplate
cursing him...
