I like Dallas better. They have the guts to recognize when they've
screwed up and just hit reset. I will still watch, Dan, but only for
purposes of information, so as to understand the fic I read. The canon
story no longer matters to me at all.

But I don't agree that Willow can be a worthwhile character again, or<BR>
that "everyone loses their innocence". Willow killed a human being, for<BR>
an unnecessary petty revenge. (Warren was going to jail; California<BR>
has the death penalty; multiple shootings are a "special circumstance"<BR>
that makes him eligible.)<BR>

Yes, Angel and Faith are interesting characters, but they aren't Willow<BR>
(they are the Fallen seeking Redemption, and the Warrior who ignores her<BR>
calling and suffers for it, respectively). I'm interested in Angel's<BR>
journey to be at peace with himself, but he's not what Buffy is trying<BR>
to protect, he is not her Holy Cause.<BR>

Willow was. Willow is the Innocent, the Good that needs protecting. By<BR>
tarnishing her, Marti soils all humanity; we're all just killers,<BR>
waiting to pull the trigger. And if no one is ever truly Good, if we'd<BR>
all gladly murder (should circumstance and Marti Noxon will it), what is<BR>
the point of Buffy's battles? No Good=No Evil=No Point=No Drama.<BR>

If this is just a planet of murderers, then Buffy should take up surfing<BR>
and let the vamps eat them. <BR>
<BR>
I know, Marti wanted to say that no one is any more moral than Spike, so<BR>
it'll be okay when Buffy marries her rapist in the series finale, but<BR>
I'm going to miss that one.<BR>
<BR>
Plus, this makes Willow so dull. (I know, I've said it before, but<BR>
apparently I haven't convinced people, so I'm just going to be<BR>
repetitive.) From now on, it won't be "how will Willow handle the plot<BR>
twist of the week?", it'll be "will this make her kill again?" And,<BR>
eventually she will. Probably for February sweeps, or whenever Marti<BR>
runs out of ideas. Oh, wait, that was this year. Boring.<BR>

Last year, Xander couldn't murder Ben to save the world. Willow<BR>
couldn't even conceive of it. What a difference a year makes.<BR>
<BR>
A hero would never have murdered Warren. Marti killed my hero, and by<BR>
association, the other heroes of the Jossverse. Bye-bye.<BR>

Where's the Tuesday Night Fights on USA when I need them? <BR>
<BR>
As to the fic, yes, a major reset like this is what it would take (which<BR>
won't happen, of course). So that seems to argue against your<BR>
hypothesis that Willow can be someone we love without one, btw. Nice to<BR>
see Jenny again, though.<BR>

But it wasn't Valentine's Day when she died. Saturday, February 14th,<BR>
1998, was the Valentine's Day dance in "Bewitched, Bothered and<BR>
Bewildered:" The day "Passion" aired, Tuesday, the 24th, is as good a<BR>
guess as any for the events of that ep.<BR>
<BR>
I also don't know if Jenny would have told Willow what she was doing.<BR>
She seemed to be working hard to hide it from Giles in the ep.<BR>
<BR>
Still, I look forward to what's ahead. I'm certain changing history<BR>
will be a lot tougher than Willow anticipated. (Ever read "Replay", by<BR>
Ken Grimwood? Pretty good book, although lacking an ending, IMO.)<BR>
<BR>
But, hey, if she can save Kendra, she kills two birds with one stone,<BR>
and they don't have to worry about all the Faith stuff.<BR>
<BR>
Personally, I think Willow should tell Buffy everything (and I mean<BR>
EVERYthing). It may not be the right decision, but I just want to see<BR>
you write that scene.<BR>
