Re: OT Marti Previews Season 7 *Spoilers*

Hey Dan, gonna boost your spoiler space if you don't mind. And yeah, I guess
I under rated the interview's spoiler content, didn't I? My bad :(

<<Willow has a new, surprising love interest later in the season AND

Xander and Anya's story is resolved by mid-season>>

Well some people seem to be latching onto the NEW part of that sentence.
Meaning it wouldn't be Oz, which I'll admit is the first thing that came to
mind actually. But I agree about the whole Seth/Joss thing, I just don't see
it happening for possibly more than an ep or two.

It also rules out Tara, of course I don't think that one is that hard to
grasp why :P

And it would also rule out Xander. They had the fling back in Season 3 and
Willow was mooning over him for 2 seasons.

Keep in mind though that Marti really comes off badly in interviews, so I
think the wording and it's importance on NEW is really rather debateable.

I actually was thinking possibly Amy. It would be new, and rather
surprising. And it would fit with Willow fighting her addiction yet, Amy
being a witch would be uber tempting.

Speaking of Willow, it says that she has trouble atoning for her actions. Is
that with her friends or with her own concious? I have to admit I'm a bit
interested to see where Willow's character is at the beginning of the season.
I guess I'm one of those people who can't seem to look away from a train
wreck LOL

<<And there is one good thought to hold on to: possibly the only way Joss
& co. could rationalize the way they toyed with the lesbian community's
affections over Tara (knowing all along they were going to kill her)
would be if they had always planned for B/W to succeed W/T. Which
doesn't make it up to those fans who were invested in **Tara**
specifically, not just having an f/f couple, nor does it excuse the
crappy treatment of both the character and the arc. But it is possible
that an eventual B/W pairing is why Joss thought he could do what he did
to W/T.>>

As slim a chance as it may be, I think it could be a valid point. Would Joss
really go so far to piss the gay and lesbian fanbase off even more by turning
Willow straight and back to Xander? I honestly don't know what to think of
the guy anymore. Sometimes I want to have faith that he has everything under
control, but then the majority of the time I think he let the idea of Evil
Willow run away with him and everything went to hell never to return LOL

Anyway, back to my point. The way he killed Tara was pretty damn senseless,
and it killed the show's positive gay image in less than minute. So maybe
he does have something up his sleeve. It would fit in with the huge
emotional gap that Buffy and Will have had all year. Good way to mend fences
LOL

<<So, I hate to throw water on your fire, Cas, but I read that article and
I see>>

Don't worry, it wasn't really my fire. I read the article and honestly
didn't know what to make of it. I had people getting all excited for me,
automatically thinking it was a clear indication of a B/W hookup. And I
really didn't get that impression off the bat. Sure I could try and analyze
the interview to hell until I came up with a good shippy conclusion, but I'm
not convinced either.
