Re: Re: Season 7 and B/W? (No Spoilers)
<<Because in that finale, Willow has the most important emotional moment
of her life...and Buffy is busy saving Shiny McWhiny from—ye
gods!—dirt. Dirt! That's our hero's big showdown in the season
finale, dirt. >>
You know the more and more I go back and I watch Season 5 eps the more
annoyed I become. I think one of the major problems in our ship the last two
seasons comes down to Dawn. It's very simple. She took Willow's place in
Buffy's life.
Sure Riley and Tara sweeping in during the fourth season certainly derailed
things a bit, but when Dawn showed up it completely altered the balance of
the relationships on the show. Dawn became Buffy's emotional center,
replacing Willow who had been their for 4 years. So yeah, Dan's not the only
one who's bit resentful of kid sis. Huh, maybe that's why Willow keeps
putting Dawn in danger, trying to eliminate the competition LOL
<<And then Fury completely forgot there was a tree. Buffy isn't needed to
solve the problem, and the B/W conflict is completely forgotten. >>
So much for Fury being the ship man huh? Gah.
<<Cas says she wants to see where Willow's character is at the start of
next season. Me, I'm pissed that WE'LL NEVER SEE how Buffy reacted when
she saw Willow for the first time after Willow tried to kill them all.
(Nor will we see the similar Willow/Dawn scene.) Showing lingering
tension in October won't be the same thing.>>
Well you never know where we'll pick up next season. Or if there could be
flashbacks. Personally I'd prefer the flashback idea three months or so into
the future. I'm still thinking I'm gonna hold judgment until I see the
premiere. Or at least till some of the more accurate spoilers start
filtering in towards the end of July LOL
<<But you could have made it much more emotionally satisfying with just
two scenes done differently in the final montage, as Sarah McLachlan
sings:>>
Definitely liking your version so much better.
You know, the final scene with Xander at the hill would have worked much
better if maybe all three of the gang were involved. Buffy actually beats
the dirt monsters instead of them going poof. Her and Dawn climb out and go
to the bluff and triple team Willow with Xander. Then of course they all
fall together, Willow wrapped around all three. That would fit in with
Xander's line that 'they're her family'.
Anyway, I guess I'm trying to stay optimistic. With the exeption of 'Normal
Again', the shippyness was at a all time low. So I can't imagine it getting
a whole lot worse than the season finale. So no where to go but up.
Huh, I can't remember ever being an optimist

Buffy:"I could wrestle naked in grease for a living and still be cleaner than
after a shift at the Doublemeat."
Willow:"Plus, I'd visit you at work every single day."
