OT: My Two Cents and an Answer to Dan's Poll

Hey kiddies. Had a brief moment and caught up on several threads. Wow.
Interesting stuff. Just in case I divulge a spoiler in mid ramble, I'll
include spoiler space.

Okay. That should be enough space. I will say up front that these are just my
own humble opinions. They seriously aren't worth the two cents I mentioned.
Heck, they aren't even worth a penny so don't bother even reading. Go ahead,
just delete. Okay..If you're still here then you can't yell at me or argue.
As I said, these are my OWN personal opinions. I take the spoilers with a
grain of salt. They can always be twisted and turned to suit whatever
viewpoint you decide to take. Looking at them, I can make myself believe a
variety of different things, including the possibility of one of my two
favorite ships having a chance at happening on the show. And, since I'm
pretty sure Hell did not freeze over <No run on figure skates mentioned on
the afternoon news ;) > I don't see the likelyhood of either one happening.
But, I do love spoilers because, for a brief moment, they give me hope! I can
make myself believe that maybe, just maybe, the writers will give me what
I've longed for during the <most likely> final season. Then, reality hits and
I'm aware that the show hasn't done very much to make me happy in years. To
answer Dan's poll, Willow/Spike of course. Duh. Did I even need to send an
answer to the list concerning that? I think it is common knowledge that
Willow/Spike is my obsessive addiction, with Willow/Buffy being close behind.
I will not argue the merits of this ship, knowing that ship preference is a
sort of 'to each their own' motto in my head. I will say that I honestly
couldn't choose between the two <W/S or W/B> if it came down to it. I enjoy
both ships, W/S maybe inching out ahead just because of my own writing. Based
on the show, though, W/B would be more believable. While the writer's have
had several opportunities in the past season to bring out W/S moments,
they've failed to do so. Okay. There have been some. Lover's Walk and The
Initiative come immediately to mind, as they should for any good W/Ser. Early
Season 4 <Pre-Tara> in fact had many small W/S moments <some actually have
continued into the current season. I still find it rather odd that Spike is
still the only one that notices what is happening with Willow. Her best
friends of several years never seem to see what he does, using depression
over losing Oz, beginning the relationship with Tara, the hurt over the lack
of being needed by Buffy, and then the magic addiction as points of reference>
if one watches interaction, which in some ways support the rumors that the
show was heading for W/S before Joss decided on the W/T plot and the entire
fiasco that is B/S <notice how appropriate *that* abbreviation is?>. Do I
want that relationship on the show? I'd have to think about it. With the
writers that they have, why would I? They'd most likely destroy one of my
favorite pairings of all TVdom, just as I nearly shudder at the thought of
them getting their grimy hands on W/B. Yes, I'm weird. I admit that. My two
favorite ships, which I'd love to see take place, and I would be scared to
death every week waiting to see how the writer's messed them up. Not that I'd
complain all that much if I got to see weekly W/S or W/B smoochies....:) And,
for the record, I'm curious to see what they do with Spike next season. I
haven't liked him much since late season 4 <missing the sarcastic wit and
just plain love of being a bastard that made him so desirable even when he
first got the chip>, and live in hopes that they will give him something to
do beyond being Buffy's puppy <season 5> and sex toy <season 6>. I saw hints
of his badness this season but they never explored it. Do I think he became
human? Personally, no. Been there, done that with Darla on Angel. The boy
would go out and get himself turned as soon as possible. He was driven to the
demon because of anger over Buffy and how she made him feel/act etc. He was
not in a place to be all "Oh wow. Now I have a soul and we can be together
forever blah blah blah" when the demon gave him his request. He was more in a
"The bitch is going to pay blah blah blah". I honestly miss the chemistry
between Spike and Buffy that they had during season 2. Then, when they were
fighting but reluctantly joining forces, then I could see a bit of an
attraction. There was fire and fighting and sexual energy. Again, saw a bit
of that this season, but, again, it was never properly explored. Yuck, let me
take my mind off the B/S now. This is turning into a right long ramble with
no point what so ever. And, again, these are just my personal opinions. They
mean nothing. Unfortunately, I don't work for Joss.....I'll leave you to it
then. Hoping to get more parts of something updated soon. Fingers crossed :)

Going back to lurk,

Inell
