OT; An interesting theory
Okay, it's been two weeks since the finale, so no spoiler space. You've been
warned.
I recently got an e-mail from one Jason Barnett in response to my story
"Life;Version 2.0" (of which, more is on the way, later this week). While
he's not exactly a B/W shipper, and has more of a tolerance of B/S(though
from what he wrote I wouldn't exactly call him a Spuffy shipper either), he
raised a couple of valid points regarding the season finale. He even gave a
semi-plausible theory regarding characterizations in the final eps. Here, let
me pass along what he said;
> Despite the saying absolute power corrupts
> absolutely I believe there are people to good to be temtped by power.
> Willow is on that list so I will simply right off some of her behavior as
> bad writing, some as the effects of Rack and some of absorbing dark
> feelings
> as well as dark power. I figure that's why Buffy suddenly cheered up.
> Willow absorbed her depression.
Interesting theory. While I won't go so far as to say that it fully justifies
Willow's actions, it does go a ways to explain why Willow was wallowing in
pain, and why Buffy got so happy toward the end. What do you guys think?
