Re: Fic: Fascinating New Thing (2/?)

Jenny,

Mmm, like the way you're playing with the title, as the new thing in
Willow's life is now interwoven with her recovery, with Buffy using
their first lovemaking to try and heal Willow's physical and psychic
wounds.

I also found your depiction of the relapses chillingly accurate. The
most depressed, self-destructive moment of my life came one year when I
was celebrating my birthday at the end of a rather good week, and then
suddenly I went all Peggy Lee (i.e., "Is That All There Is?") and
everything seemed very empty. Pride goeth before a fall, and so on.

Willow staying away from cutting for seven days and then losing it on
the eighth is a lot more believable to me than Willow promising to stay
off magic for a week and not even making it through the next morning.
(Even if I did fanwank it that she had never truly intended to quit the
magic, and just lied to Tara to shut her up because she was already
determined to heal Buffy with the spell...)

Also enjoyed the Willow/Joyce interaction. And since it's Season 3,
maybe we're going to see Faith? (Seems like there's the potential for
some destructive jealousy, there...)

Glad to see that you're ready to give us more now that you're free from
the coils of college. Looking forward to whatever lies ahead.

Dan
