OT: Season 9? (Nick Brendon interview)

Hi there!

In an interview with YM.com (follow the link at the bottom of the page),
Nick Brendon revealed that he is under contract with ME for not one, but
**three** more years! 

Wow, could there be more Buffy in store than popularly surmised? I know
that Season 7 is the last on Sarah's deal (Joss and SMG have talked
about it enough) but we all just assumed that everbody else was on a
two-year deal (for Seasons 6-7) as well.

Assuming that the actors don't want to leave and that Joss doesn't plan
to kill Anya or Spike (hey, I can dream, okay?), I'm guessing that Emma
Caulfield and James Marsters are also probably locked up for Seasons
8-9. I know Michelle Trachtenberg has talked about going to college
after next year, so she may just have one more year on her deal, and I
don't know how long Aly signed for, given that her film career was
looking pretty promising when the contracts came up last year.

In any event, we know that some of the spadework for Seasons beyond 7
has already been done. However, the somewhat bizarre success of
"Scooby-Doo" may be the deciding factor, because obviously you can't
have "Buffy" without Buffy. (Please come back, Sarah! I really
**don't** want "Dawn the Vampire Slayer".)

Now if they'd just hire six or seven new writers and producers and fire
the old ones... (yep, still bitter)

Oh, in other news, NIck said that the actors have no information about
the upcoming season (so those quotes you heard from Aly and James last
week are just speculation), and that he's started working out with a
personal trainer (good idea).

Okay, now I'll shut up and let you read the whole thing.
