RE: Fic: Red Skies at Morning (part 4/?)W/B NC17
I seem to have a bad habit of forcing the characters to have little
Freudian slips (or big ones). However, in my defense- it almost seems
more in-character for them to accidentally reveal these little truths
than it is to picture them making the mature, rational decision to share
scary emotional baggage and risk the pain associated with it.
Plus, sometimes it's funny.

Bear,
Just catching up on this. (You know, I was nearly caught up with the
fics, so I slacked for a couple of days, and now I'm behind again.
Funny how that works :p)
Yeah, I can understand that you're worried about leaving btvs_kink
hanging with the "sensitive chat" portions of the tale, but as long as
you keep going and get there eventually, it should be okay. (Unlike a
couple of fics I started for B/W and other lists and never got to the
"other" parts...bad me!)
And this chapter was very nice; classic Xander/Willow stuff, from
deciding that a lesbian lust party wouldn't be enough to make Willow
miss school to vowing to kill Buffy if Willow's distress was her fault
(nice "When She Was Bad" continuity) to being observant and sensitive,
but still being Xander. More nice continuity with the mention of Owen,
who, after all, is probably still at the school. (Hmm, I'll have to
work Scott Hope into a Season 2 fic one of these days ["he wanted to ask
you out last year, but you weren't ready. But I think you're ready
now..."])
And more strong characterization with Willow not believing Xander's
declaration of "Cordelia first, last and always" and her mock-outraged
"Xander!"s. How many times has she said that, I wonder; it can't
really be a normal day unless he gets a couple of them out of her,
right? Aww.
Oh and interesting way to get Buffy talking to Joyce. A little forced
perhaps, but as good as solution to your problem as you were likely to
find.
Keep up the good work. (Hey, shouldn't you have done that by now?)
