Mulder stood up and he picked up the other six files that were 
stacked on top of each other.Scully said thank you for your time 
Captain Mathews it was quite enlightening.Captain Mathews said Agent 
Scully if you and your partner are planning on staying the night in 
Sunnydale i can recomend the best hotel and restraunts we have 
here.Agent Mulder said that wont be neccessary Captain Mathews me and 
my partner have to go back to the FBI office in Los Angeles to report 
in so we will stay there.Agent Scully said but we will stop by before 
we head back home and return the files to you.Agent Mulder and Scully 
walked over to the door and walked out of it after Mulder had opened 
it.

Captain Mathews stayed seated behind his desk pretending to read a 
report that had been laying on his desk while he was actually 
watching Agents Mulder and Scully as they made their way to the front 
door.Once they had walked out of the police station he stood up and 
walked over to his office door.Captain Mathews looked around and he 
spotted Lieutenant Kirk talking to Lieutenant Davies in front of the 
coffee machine.Captain Mathews said Lieutenant Kirk come into my 
office i need to speak to you.Lieutenant Kirk said I'll be right 
there in a minute sir and then he headed for his desk underneath 
which he had stashed the tote bag that Buffy and Willow had given 
him.When Lieutenant Kirk walked into Captain Mathew's office he was 
told to shut the door behind him and then sit down.

Lieutenant Kirk sat down in a chair facing Captain Mathews and he 
said sir does this have something to do with the two feds who just 
left a few minutes ago.Captain Mathews said how did you find out 
about them.Lieutenant Kirk said i was told by Buffy and Willow who 
got the news from Sergeant Jason when they came to bring you 
something.Captain Mathews said how long ago did they leave and 
Lieutenant Kirk said at least fifteen minutes ago sir.Captain Mathews 
said good the last thing we need is for those two FBI agents to run 
into Buffy,Willow, or any other members of their group.Lieutenant 
Kirk said sir may i ask why the two FBI agents were here.Captain 
Mathews said they are here to investigate why such a small town used 
to have over double the yearly death rate of any major metropolitan 
city at least thats what they told me.Lieutenant Kirk said oh damn 
this could mean trouble and Captain Mathews said thats a damn 
understatement if i ever heard one.Captain Mathews said Lieutenant 
Kirk i want you to go right to Willie's bar and tell him and everyone 
else there that we are most likely going to have some feds poking 
around Sunnydale for the next couple days and nights and the last 
thing any of us need is to draw anymore attention to ourselves or our 
town.Lieutenant Kirk said I'll go do it right now sir but then he 
stopped and he said sir what about Buffy and her group they need to 
be informed as well.Captain Mathews said i will head for the Guardian 
estate in a few minutes and give them the news personally.Lieutenant 
Kirk was about to walk out of Captain Mathew's office when he 
realized he still had the tote bag.Lieutenant Kirk turned around and 
walked back over to Captain Mathews desk.Lieutenant Kirk said sir 
here is what they left and he placed the tote bag on top of the 
desk.Captain Mathews said hold on Lieutenant lets take a look at what 
they gave us before you leave.Captain Mathews unzipped the tote bag 
and they both looked into it.Captain Mathews picked up one of the 
pistols and he said what kind of pistol are these i have never seen 
anything like them before.Lieutenant Kirk said if i am correct they 
are Calico Liberty 120 pistols.Captain Mathews said how do you know 
that and Lieutenant Kirk said there is a couple pictures of them in 
one of the gun magazines that have been floating around the police 
station for the last week.Captain Mathews said dont mention them to 
any of the other officers until i decide who we should entrust them 
to.

When Mulder and Scully walked out of the police station they just 
quietly walked to the rental car they had got at the Los Angeles 
airport.Once in the car Mulder started up the car and he started 
backing it up.Scully waited until they were out of the police 
stations parking lot before asking Mulder what he thought about what 
they were told.Mulder said i dont know what to think.Scully said what 
do you mean.Mulder said my gut feeling tells me he was leveling with 
us about the death rate but it also tells me that there has been 
something more going on here than he told us and its quite possible 
that it could still be going on but that he or others are covering it 
up.Scully said i hate to say it Mulder but i have to agree with you 
because it just isnt feasible that a town that had such a high yearly 
death rate going back at least six years could just go almost to nil 
in the time span of three months.Mulder said well when we get to our 
motel we will look over the files and see if there is anything in 
them that might give us a clue to whats really going on.Scully said 
Mulder i dont think that will be enough we need to get more 
information than whats just in those files and there is only one 
source which we can trust to get them.Mulder said ok I'll call 
Langley when we get to the motel and have him check out Sunnydale,the 
former chief of police,and former mayor.Scully said also have them 
check out Captain Mathews and see if their is anything in the 
Sunnydale police computer records which might enlighten us.

Buffy and Willow were just getting out of the humvee as the sun was 
starting to set.A second later Amy opened the door and she said hey 
you two hurry up dinner is ready but we cant eat until you two join 
us.Willow said well come give us a hand we have some stuff to carry 
inside and we cant leave it in the humvee.Amy ran out of the house 
and Oz and Tara followed her.When Amy reached Buffy and Willow she 
said did you guys go pickup Xander's gift.Buffy said yes we did and 
its in the humvee's hidden compartment.Willow said Oz we will need 
you to sneak it into the house later on tonight while the rest of us 
keep Xander distracted.Oz said that will be no problem now lets get 
the humvee unloaded and take it inside because i am famished.

Amy was the first one to see the tote bags and transport cases and 
she said looks like you two bought some more guns.Willow said yes we 
did but some of them are going to be christmas gifts to Angel's
group or the legacy group in San Francisco.Buffy said we will show 
them to you guys later after dinner lets just do as Oz said a second 
ago and get the stuff inside so we can eat.

When they walked into the main hall Joyce who was putting the food 
on the dinning room table said Buffy tell Giles we are about to 
eat.Buffy walked over to the nearest entercom pannel and while 
holding the button she said hey G-man its dinner time.Joyce looked at 
Buffy and she said Buffy you and Willow go wash your hands in the 
kitchen so we can eat as soon as Giles joins us.

A minute later Giles was walking down the staircase to the main hall 
when he spotted the tote bags and transport cases which were next to 
the inner foyer door.When he got up to the dinning room table he sat 
down and then said Buffy what kinds of guns did you and Willow buy 
this time.Buffy said we bought some pistols and three different type 
of rifles.Willow said but we stopped by the fire department and 
police station and gave them some of the pistols.Giles said i dont 
think that pistols will do them much good.Buffy said oh these pistols 
will because they are fully automatic and the clips for them hold a 
hundred rounds each.Joyce said shush we dont talk about guns while at 
the dinning room table or have you guys forgotten the rule i made.
Buffy said no mom we havent forgotten and Joyce said good i should 
hope not.
