friends belong to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy. All characters from the DCU 
do not belong to me I?m just taking out for a ride through my twisted 
imagination, Adrienne Mackenzie Prince-Kent is mine.

Rating: For now PG-13 to R depending on your point of view.

Summary: In the DCU eighteen years ago during a battle with Darksied, a 
strange and mysterious anomaly occurred , unleashed by an experiment by 
Julian September at a critical time and out of this anomaly was born a child 
to two of the most powerful heroes of the JLA, now attending UC Sunnydale, 
she will become the Slayers greatest ally.

Author?s Note: This is really more of a Faith/Other romance with 
Buffy/Willow pairing as well. Faith redeemed herself and is still part of 
the Scoobies in my story. Also I?ve messed with the timeline on a lot of 
stuff. Joyce Summers lives!!!

Previously on Kryptonite??

Later that day Adrienne stopped by the classes that she had missed in order 
to be at the airport on time. She picked up her assignments and mentally 
made a list of fellow students she needed to contact in order to get some 
notes.

Finishing she went to meet her parents at a café, the others were supposed 
to meet them there. When she arrived she found Joyce, Buffy, Dawn, and 
Willow talking to her father while Lois was taking notes about whatever 
Giles was talking about.

?I leave you alone for a few minutes,? she said walking up to the table they 
had chosen.

?He started it,? Lois joked smiling.

Simply raising her eyebrow Adrienne sat down.

?So where?s Anya and Xander??

?Anya stayed at the store, and Xander?s working,? Buffy answered.

Suddenly tilting her head Adrienne studied Buffy, there was something 
different she couldn?t put her finger on it but there was something. 
Shaking her head turned her attention to Willow who had turned away 
blushing.

?Oh yeah, something happened,? she thought.

She wasn?t oblivious to the fact that while they were sitting close to each 
other there was something different now from all of the other times.

Before they could begin a conversation everyone?s attention was caught by 
something behind Adrienne. Turning she was shocked to see Faith.

Faith was dressed in the tightest black leather pants anyone had ever seen 
her in, Adrienne had the sinking suspicion that she wasn?t even wearing any 
underwear. Sighing softly she knew that tonight was going to be difficult, 
hell these next few minutes will probably be hell.

Looking back to see Lois? reaction she didn?t miss her fathers smirk, the 
twinkling in his eye made her wonder is she was in for a ?Father Daughter 
Talk?, Lois on the other had was handling it better she looked at Adrienne 
and raised her eyebrow mouthing ?Faith??. Nodding her answer she turned 
back to Faith missing Lois turn to Clark with a knowing gleam in her eyes, 
they smiled at each other, realizing Faiths ploy.


Now on Kryptonite?????


Faiths eyes scanned the group seeing for the first time the two people that 
made up half of her biggest obstacle. Adrienne?s parents, they looked 
normal, her dad was tall, at least now she knew where she got it from; her 
mother looked as sharp as Giles.



Mother, both Diana and Lois were mother. Not step-mother or other mother, 
just mother. She was in no way capable of understanding why someone with 
everything would want her, it wasn?t possible but if for once it was for 
real she was going to get the test part out of the way as soon as possible, 
so here she was in her ?best?, hoping to ease Adrienne and her parents into 
either no longer thinking about her as suitable or accepting her, leather 
and all.



Willow and Buffy were the first ones to notice her followed by Joyce and 
Adrienne?s parents. Her heart thudded in her chest as she saw Adrienne 
tense then turn towards her direction. Keeping her face bored she felt sick 
to her stomach about her decision, she wanted to be with Adrienne, but she 
knew that she had to do the right thing. Though if you asked her the right 
thing for who she wasn?t sure she?d be able to answer.



Adrienne for her part was struck speechless, somewhere in the back of her 
mind she knew that this could be a good thing but her eyes and her 
equilibrium were in control for the time being. Snapping out of it she 
stood and began the introductions.



?Mom, Dad, this is Faith,? turning back to Faith she continued, ?Faith 
these are my parents, Lois Lane-Kent and Clark Kent, the journalistic 
dynamic duo from the Daily Planet.?

The pride was evident in her voice and much to Faith?s dismay so was the 
warmth and care when Adrienne had spoken her name, it was unnerving.

Lois wasted no time and fulfilled her role of over cautious parent by asking 
as many questions about Faith?s past as possible, through it all Adrienne 
stayed on Faith?s side sometimes warning Lois off with a look and others 
just holding her hand and letting her support show.



?Don?t worry,? she said when the questions died down, ?half was for personal 
information and the other half was the Pulitzer prize winning journalist.?



The table laughed, not one person had come out unscathed.




As they all prepared to go their separate ways Clark asked his daughter if 
they could talk. Their talk would serve two perposes, one so that Lois 
could get Faith alone for a few minutes and two to talk in private.

?So besides giving Mom time to grill Faith some more what did you want to 
talk about Dad??

He chuckled, ?You know us too well.?

?Yeah well, you live with some one for a while and you tend to pick things 
up.?

?I just wanted to say how proud of you I am. That and good luck.?

?Good luck??

?While I have an excuse with the fact that I deal with both your mothers I 
get the feeling that you?re going to have your hands full with just the 
one.?

?Ha ha,? she said.

?Seriously though helping people and just sometimes watching with patrols I 
tend to learn things about people, and one of the most important things that 
they all want, is to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they?re loved, if 
you?re serious she should know.

That little display of hers? was a ?This is all of me, take it or leave it? 
type message and if this is it, then it?s your move.?

?You?ve been spending too much time with Uncle Bruce.? she said, but he had 
given her alot to think about.

Meanwhile still inside Lois called out for Faith as soon as Adrienne and 
Clark had disappeared.

?Well Faith, I think it goes without saying that you?re having some kind of 
doubts, and I can tell you without even knowing what exactly they are that 
you have nothing to worry about.?

?Really,? Faith said incredulous.

?In all the time that I?ve known about her, um tastes she?s never brought 
anyone home or asked us to meet anyone, your special already for her to have 
introduced us. No one else she?s known was worth that.?

?What was it like for you when you found out...?

?By that time he had already won my heart as Clark, and then I knew he was 
Clark the other side of his life was his other job.?

?So you?re like saying it?s the person not the powers,? she asked.

?Yeah,? Lois said.

?I?m so five by five with that.?

?Five by five what exactly??

Faith smiled, it was about damn time someone asked.

Later that day as her parents went to check out the museum and Joyce?s art 
gallery Adrienne and Faith decided to just go out for a walk. Eventually 
they ended up in a secluded area at a park.

Screwing up her courage Adrienne knew it was time, throughout their time 
together today her thoughts revolved around two things, the truth of her 
fathers words, and how much she really loved Faith.

Faith for her part was nervous, her rough exterior never even registered 
with Adrienne, she had found the one person who hadn?t even tried to look 
beyond it because for her it didn?t exist.

Sitting on the ground leaning on a tree with Faith in her arms, Adrienne 
felt such terrifying joy she embraced Faith feeling her entire self flow 
with feeling, but she knew that her words had to be chosen carefully, 
because although she loved Faith there was also something else she needed to 
know.

?I love you,? she murmured, ?I don?t know what it is about you that calls 
out to me, it?s like instinct. I know that I love you, I?m in love with 
you. Which is why I have to tell you something, it wouldn?t be fair for me 
to keep this from you, I know you?ve been backing away so here?s why I?ve 
been moving forward.?



And so she told Faith the truth, about her powers her shorter than a slayer 
life-expectancy and how for how ever long she has, even if Faith didn?t want 
to continue their relationship she still wanted her friendship.

Faith sat dumbfounded, part of her felt betrayed and wanted to cry out and 
rage in indignation at the unfairness of their situation.

She didn?t know how to respond, ?Damn the Hellmouth!? she thought.

But she couldn?t fault the Hellmouth entirely, Adrienne had said she had 
done this to herself before even thinking about coming here.

Slowly turning to face Adrienne, tears escaping her eyes, she saw fear. 
Fear in the eyes of one of the most powerful beings in the world, fear of 
rejection that Faith was intimately aware of, fear from the woman she loved. 
It was too much, what little time they had together, Faith refused to give 
up on one of the too few good things in her life.

?Baby, I love you too,? she sealed her vow with a kiss.

A kiss that soon turned more passionate than either had prepared for. 
Breaking for air, they simply held on to one another. Faith had always been 
physical, not so long ago her motto and way of life had been want, take, 
have. Even after she fell from grace with the Scoobies and danced with 
darkness, she had almost not come out of that one. But now being held and 
being the one doing the holding she was finally getting a good idea on what 
it really meant to want, and have, the amazing part was that she didn?t have 
to take, it was freely given.

?These intrigues will be the death of someone,? the man with red eyes mused.

Thinking of all the little power plays for little trinkets, Glorificus for 
the key, Ra a Gaul for physical power as a gift to his daughter, and 
Darksied revenge, although truth be told he wasn?t entirely sure that 
revenge was Darksieds? only motivation, he was the only one truly hiding 
something, well beside himself that is.

?Curious, I?ll just have to keep a close eye on him, after all,? he thought, 
?I have a very vested interest in the outcome of our little game.?

Meanwhile on Apokolips....

The imposing figure of Darksied, sitting on his throne room peered closely 
at the small Shifter Demon, as if asertaining whether or not to see if he 
could simply squash it just to see if what he had been told of this 
particular breed of demon was true. They could assume the shape of any 
demon and mimic their powers perfectly, if only for a short period of time.

?You know what to do when the others send in their extra help??

?Yes master,? the demon bowed before Darksied.

?Make sure that no one will ever become aware of my part in this, they must 
only think I have completely agreed to their course of action.?

As soon as the demon left Granny Goodness appeared from behind Darksieds? 
throne.

?Soon we will find out if it?s true, my lord,? her face twisted to hideous 
glee.

?Yes, soon we will know if the other one spoke the truth, that my nemesis 
daughter will be mine to command.?





Quick note: I was asked once about all the changes and I guess they never 
read the header, 'I'be messed with the timeline'. so little familiar things 
might pop up but nothing even time is written in stone, crisis and kingdom 
come, anyone?
