Not to mention that Joss, himself, already stated in the SciFi Wired 
(or whatever it's called) interview that "Amber will return, but Tara 
will not" (I'm paraphrasing, but that's pretty close to what he said) 
so we know she will return and will be someone different, we just 
don't know if it Marti's comments about Will's new love interest. 
Will a new Amber character be done tastefully? I would normally say I 
have plenty of faith in the folks over there to say I trust them to 
do it well, but they've done a lot to weaken my faith in them so I'm 
not sure. Will the Amber character be Will's new love interest? 
Possibly. Bet everyone here is hoping the "you'll never believe who" 
part of Marti's statement is referencing Buffy LOL. 

I think they never had any of the major characters get invovled with 
one another on any serious level (in a 'ship) because it would cause 
too many problems if a break up did happen and we know how the show 
loves to cause misery in the love lives of the characters, but, if 
Season 7 does wind up being the last one, whose to say that they 
don't start pairing up lead characters? I know season 8 is being 
talked about at the moment and it'll be a little while before a 
decision is made and then announced, but if it does end at Season 7 I 
don't see why they couldn't finally pair off B/W together. So many 
want it, we've already been told that Willow is gay and won't go 
back, Buffy's had a crappy history with "boys town," not to mention 
all the subtext over the years. It would be interesting to see how 
that plays out. 

But yeah, the whole point to my post was that though Amber said she 
doesn't know anything (and couldn't say if she did), Joss has already 
mentioned Amber returning to the show.
