I think it is possible that Amber Benson's appearances will be in some
way connected to the shapeshifter, if there is one. Anne-Lise described
it as manifesting people's fears, hates and desires, so that would
account for it taking Tara's shape, as well as those of Glory, The
Master, and Warren (although Adam Busch says that he's had absolutely no
contact with ME). 

I have to say that I will hate Joss more than I already do. I can handle this idea, as long as she doesn't play something evil or what not, like they did with Jenny when she was haunting Angel. **Mumbles incoherently** But, I don't trust Joss and my gut feelings tell me that he's going to make me want to kick his ass next season. 

I agree with alot of stuff you said, but I'm gonna snip some of it.

As for Amber, another reason she might be playing faux-Tara and not
Tara's identical cousin or whatever, is that Jane Espenson said on the
Succubus Club that "some version of Tara" would appear on the show. So
Amber wouldn't simply play "Gee, she looks a lot like Tara, doesn't
she". Although she could play multiple roles.

Yeah, I remember reading that. Now, don't hit me people, but I think Amber's new character is the one that Willow is going to fall for. I have my choice words for Joss, in the first place with all this crap, but at least it will take away some of the heartache seeing Amber back. Plus, it will be good for Amber and Aly, if their characters were to get together, cause they are already comfortable with each other. I'm still going to desperately miss Tara though. 

At the moment, a total reversal and resurrection seems unlikely; it
would be Joss admitting he was wrong, and I think we'll see Angelus in
blue jeans before THAT happens.

I know. I was hoping for one, but we probably won't get one.

It would also be incredibly hokey, I admit, but most of the Tara
fans would hardly care (heck, if a giant reset can get the blood off of
Willow's hands and make her something other than the Angel-with-boobs
she's been reduced to, I'd be on board myself).

A reset would make me incredibly happy. It will fix all the badness that was season 6, but it still wouldn't take away any of the heartache that he put us through to begin with, for no reason. Grrrr... hmmm...**Calming down** I could say alot of choice words right now, but I'm trying to be nice.

And the "Tara-shaped stranger" is also far too corny. Although it is a
staple of soap opera, so Marti is probably lobbying for it as we speak:
"Amber can play Tara's Evil Twin, whom Tara never mentioned because she
was too embarassed. But Willow can win her over to the side of good,
and then [the twin] can get a mysterious disease and die looking
beautiful in bright sunlight as everybody cries...or maybe the twin
could get amnesia and forget she was evil and start thinking she was
Tara..."

Knowing them, they would probably go with the amnesia thing. They would just love to torture us with it. She says she's Tara, she looks like Tara, she doesn't know she's not Tara, but she ISN'T Tara. That would suck more than her being her twin sister. Does that make sense. BUT, I'd rather have that happen, than have Amber come back playing Tara's evil twin sister. It would just be...**Gasp** 

Say, perhaps, that Willow is at a low point when the ghost of Live-In
Lovers Past appears, and tells her she still has much to live for, that
she can fall in love again (Kittens gnash their teeth, but at least this
gives the new relationship Tara's blessing and makes going on with her
life a way for Willow to honor Tara's memory), and forgives Willow for
going psycho and disrespecting her death, stealing everybody's grief for
Tara by making them fret about Willow instead. 

I'd rather see Willow single, than have that happen. Granted, it would give us the closure that was ripped away, but I don't know how I would feel to see Willow move on. I know what you're saying, "She's okay to see it happen if it's with Amber, but not anyone else?" That's true. Call me crazy, but I'd probably feel uncomfortable if they hooked Willow up with someone else. It would make Joss's ass kicking more fun, mind you, cause he's an evil bastard. Can you tell I don't like him?? It's just unacceptable to me. Don't hit me or throw things at me guys, but I don't see how Willow's new love interest could be Buffy either. She's straight. Now... I could be totally wrong and will appologize for my words later, so don't hit me, please. Just my opinion and my missing Amber/Tara!

hope that this is the aspect of Willow's conduct that gets addressed. 

I have to agree with you there. I couldn't believe she just left Tara there and went off. Granted, she was on a revenge trip, but Willow.. Grrrr... it pissed me off. 

PS?actually, Amber says, that for all the talk, no one has set
anything up with her agent, either. But that might just mean that she's
arranged things personally with Joss; Amber was really professional
about keeping the plot twists secret last year, without ever reverting
to flat-out lying, like some egomaniacal insensitive jackasses I can
think of. (Why, Mr. DeHack, what on earth makes you think was referring
to you? ;-) )

She's very good at hiding things, but, I would faster believe what comes out of her mouth, than what doesn't. Did that make sense? 

And ditto on the jackasses comment. *Cough-Joss-Cough-Marti-Cough-Steve-Cough* The heartless bastards.
