Faith never had a last name in canon. Spencer was used by a popular fanfic 
writer on Faithful. The writer did a few fics based on the TV show Spencer 
for Hire where Faith was the PI. That name the stuck like peanutbuter does 
to the roof of your mouth.

Its almost as bad as the using Elizabeth for Buffy's name.

In the shooting script for Doomed Xander was supposed to step on the burned 
and melted remains, they were going to film the scene with CM still stuck in 
it. It was cut when the found out the price tag.
