Just a quick ditto on Joachim's sentiments?sometimes a spate of
chapters catches people at a bad moment, but that doesn't mean that
interest has dried up. I quite enjoyed the first two chapters and will
be very interested to see where you've taken the story. Hang in there.
That said...Hey! Listpeople! Yeah, you, lurking in the corner, there!
Would it kill you to drop a line now and then? Our authors need
feedback. Doesn't have to be anything brilliant, just "I liked this" or
"I liked this, keep going" or "I liked this, it was sweet, keep going"
or "I liked this. It was sweet when Buffy kissed Willow. Keep going."
See, in that last example, you've complimented the fic ["I liked this"],
given an emotional response ["It was sweet"], cited a specific detail in
the fic that you enjoyed ["when Buffy kissed Willow"], and encouraged
the author ["Keep going"]?all in the space of just 12 words. Let the
authors know you're enjoying their work, and they'll make more of it
(and more people will be encouraged to try).
We can tell by the monthly posting totals on the main page that this has
been a quiet summer, despite the fact that plenty of fic is being
written. Hence, what we need here is more feedback. You read it, you
enjoy it, you TELL the author that, and they write more. Supply and
demand; capitalism?Anya would be proud.
More FB=More Fic, it's a simple as that.
