Not only should you not abandon a fic, but B/W/X is a different thing
from B/W/T, even though Willow and Xander were (briefly) coupled in
canon. The "Three Musketeers" 'ship is an attestation to the bond
between the three central characters, and well apart from the feelings
some might have about B/W/T seeming to marginalize Buffy and/or her bond
with Willow.

Indeed, I can't recall any complaints about B/W/X, either in regard to
your fic, or Tony McD's excellent "Terra/Trinity/Destiny" series.
