Jen and Dawn sat on the steps of the high school waiting for
Willow to pick them up. An ambulance went by sirens blaring. "Jen
call your mom and see if she knows where she is".
"Is something wrong", Jen asked.
"I just have a weird feeling". Jen pulled her cell phone out and
dialed Willow number first. Jen whispered a silent payer when she
didn't get an answer and tried her mom.
"Hey mom have you seen Willow she is usually here by now". Jen
listened to her and then hung up the phone.
"She is calling Giles to come get us and she is going to try and see
what is going on".
"Jen I have a bad feeling about things".
"It's going to be aright, Dawnie", Jen told her but a part of her
wasn't so sure.
Sara hung up with her daughter, called Giles, asked him to pick up
the girls and take them home. She tried Willow's number and when she
didn't get an answer she called Buffy.
"Hey Buff have you heard from Willow this afternoon", Sara said into
the phone.
"No not since she dropped me off. Why what's up?" Sara told her about
Willow not being at the school and not answering her phone.
"I don't like it Sara. Willow would never forget something like
that. I am going to head your way, pick me up and we will try the
store. She said something about going there." Sara almost dropped the
phone when she saw the two police officers headed her way, "Hang on
Buffy. Stay on the phone".
"Miss Stevens", the young female cop asked?
"Yes can I help you"?
"Do you own a blue mini van", the second older cop asked?
"Yes I do. My girlfriend has it today. Is something wrong", Sara
stomach drooped to her knees.
The younger cop pulled out a note pad and flipped open, "A Willow
Rosenburg. I am sorry but there was an accident this afternoon. They
transported her the hospital."
"How is she", Sara screamed at the cops.
"I don't know. She was unconscious when the paramedics got her out."
Sara could her Buffy yelling at her on the phone.
"Buffy, Willow was in an accident we have to get the hospital. Start
that way and I will pick you up". Sara nodded at the officers and
flew out the backdoor.
Sara and Buffy flew through the ER doors and up the receptionist
desk. "Willow Rosenburg was brought in by ambulance. Were her
girlfriends", Sara told the woman behind the desk their names.
"She is with the doctor right now. I will let them know you are here
and as soon as they can, they will come and talk to you. Why don't
you have a seat until then".
" I am going to go out front and call everybody and have them meet us
here", Sara said as she headed for the front door. Sara returned a
few minutes later and took a seat next to Buffy.
"Sara, oh god the babies". Sara took her hand and made small circles
on her palm, "It's going to be okay, honey. Willow's a fighter and
come on were talking about kids from a slayer, witch and a slayer
who's a witch. They will be strong". Buffy laid her head on Sara's
shoulder and let the tears fall. Sara closed her eyes and prayed she
was right. She couldn't lose them now. Jen, Dawn and Giles came
running into the waiting room. Sara got up and hugged them.
"We haven't heard anything yet", Sara informed them. About ten
minutes later Xander and Anya showed up and Sara asked the
receptionist if they had some place a little more private for them to
wait. She led them to a smaller room off of the main waiting area.
After what seemed like hours a grayed hair doctor walked into the
room, his face pale and somber.
"Miss Summers, Miss Stevens?
