Re: Fic: Dying Young

Megan,

"This is the last place I expected you to hang out"--Angel to Cordelia
("Some Assembly Reqiured")

Glad you've decided to stop over and join us (Angelina will be so
pleased!), B/F tendencies or no :) Delightful recasting of Buffy/Willow
in Laura/Donna terms (and wasn't that just so slashy?).

It's a lot of fun imagining the BtVS/Twin Peaks character analogues.
Hmme, besides Angel/James which you gave us, we've got the obvious
Cordelia/Audrey, and I guess Xander/Bobby (even if Xander was definitely
not on the football team).

The scary thing is that in this scenario, Giles is the equivalent
of...Leland Palmer. And indeed, that's what we have here--Giles making
Buffy/Laura keep her dark secret, something just between herself and
"Daddy", and ultimately killing her because of the secrecy involved (no
Xander to the rescue). (No to mention the suicide angle). A neat
comparison between the sunlit world of Sunnydale (despite the vampires
and so on) and the dark, corrupting undercurrents of Twin Peaks.

And I just love the image of ten year old Dawnie walking in on B/W
smooches :) (If only...)

Thanks,

Dan

PS--You know, you can post B/F stories here, too. My general
guidelines here are that it's okay as long as

a) it features either Buffy or Willow in a non-canon femslash context
(no pure Willow/Tara fics, in other words), and

b) at least roughly half of the work you post **is** B/W.

We're not doctrinaire, but we don't want to go OT to an extreme amount,
either. (And what's the deal with my using the royal "we" here, anyway?
 )

PPS--If anyone here is an Angel/Cordy 'shipper, you might note that the
line above is the first thing either of them ever said to each other
onscreen, although clearly they know each other by then, and not just in
"mmm! Salty goodness!" kind of way.
