I can believe it
I suppose I like the give and take. Xander's an emotional coward, and 
Anya is afraid of her humanity.

Of course, vamipres are also about lack of responcability; Spike 
thinks he can love Buffy without the ability to empathically "care" 
about her.

Actually it's strange that with vampires so strong and so numerous 
that they so rarely try ending the world - infact only vamipres with 
delusions of super-evil seem to be up for it: the Master and Angelus 
(and Angelus was out to prove something).
Vampires seem to be pretty unpopular with "real" demons - hell on 
earth may not be much of a party except for vampires strong enough to 
hold their own.

Thinking back I rather liked that too (again, the guy wasn't in 
control). Although the high point was after they broke up, with 
Xander paying off the dress.
