Ok here it is I hope everyone likes it. I want to thank everyone, I 
really enjoyed knowing what everyone thought. I am going to go back 
to learning to live now. Ok on with the show. Jen

Buffy sighed and closed her computer. It had been two weeks since 
she had sent Willow her e-mail and she hadn't heard anything 
back. `Well I guess she doesn't want to hear from me', Buffy thought. 
The dorm room door opened and her ex-girlfriend, now best friend 
walked in.
"Hey Buffy, nothing yet", She asked?
"Nope, I guess it really is over. I really just wish that she would 
just show up, so I could see her and see for myself. God, Tara I miss 
her so much. It hurts sometimes. I'm sorry, talking to your ex about 
how much you love your other ex ain't cool."
"Buffy, I'm more then just your ex, I'm your best friend. I always 
knew Willow held your heart. I'm just glad that you let me borrow it 
for a while. I just wish I had been here to meet her then. She had a 
pretty rough time of it from what I hear", Tara moved and sat down 
on her bed, "So are you done packing?" They had just finished up 
there first year of college and both were looking forward to the 
summer ahead. Buffy was moving back to her mom`s, so that she could 
help out with the new baby when it came, "Almost, I have a couple of 
things to take to the car and then I'll be done. Do you want a ride 
over to mom's for the baby shower"?
"Nope, Faith should be here any minute. I think I'll go down and 
wait. Buffy from what everyone has told me she loved you and I think 
some day she will come home to you."
"I hope so", Buffy told her. Tara got up, headed out the door and if 
Buffy hadn't been so lost in her thoughts she would have seen the 
grin on her best friend. Buffy unplugged her computer and put it in 
her bag. She spent a few minutes looking around making sure she 
hadn't missed anything. Half an hour later the last of the boxes 
where packed in her car, and took one last look at the room she had 
spent the last nine months in.


Buffy pulled up in front of her house and noticed the unfamiliar 
car in the driveway. She opened the door to find her friends, no 
her `family' Buffy corrected herself, laughing. Joyce, Jenny and 
Shelly were sitting on the couch laughing about something. Tara, 
Faith, Dawn and Anya were sitting on the floor in a circle around 
James and a red headed little girl who looked to be about 3. 
Something about the girl seemed familiar but she couldn't put her 
finger on it. Buffy walked into the room, "Hey everyone looks like 
you started without me." Buffy sat down on the floor with her back to 
the kitchen and looked at the little girl, "So who might you be." The 
girl looked at her and smiled, "I'm Alex and I'm three".
"Well Alex I'm Buffy." Alex got up and sat down in Buffy lap, "I 
know. My mommy told me all about you."
"Really, who's you mommy? I must know her if she knows me." A voice 
that Buffy thought she would ever hear again came from behind her, "I 
am". Buffy jumped up and turned to see Willow leaning in the doorway. 
"Will, you're here", was all Buffy could say before sweeping the red 
head into her arms. 
"Yes I am", Willow told her, "But your making me dizzy". Buffy 
blushed and looked at her for the first time in four years. Willow 
had on a beige casual pants and a white silk shirt. Her hair was 
short and curly. She looked older, older then she was. Like she has 
seen things that no one her age should ever see.
"Buffy why don't we go out back and talk. There is so much that I 
need to tell you about. Alex why don't you stay in here and play with 
James." The little girl looked at her mom and nodded her head, "Ok, 
mommy". Buffy followed Willow out the back door and sat down beside 
her on the bench that looked out into the garden.
"So Will, how have you been", Buffy asked remembering her youthful 
mistake from before.
"Pretty good and you".
"Well it's been up and down but things are looking up now that you 
are here. Where did you go?"
"Well after I got out of the hospital after the stuff with my mom I 
went to LA. They had a dependency program I got off drugs and got my 
GED. After that I went to England and joined the council. They owed 
me for spending two years fighting the Hellmouth. They put me through 
school and I am now a watcher." Buffy sat there with her mouth 
hanging open, finally her curiosity got the better of her, "Who is 
Alex's father?"
"Well I need to start from the beginning with that one. Do remember 
when I ran away the first time. Well the reason I left was because my 
stepfather raped me that night. I was so messed up from that I wasn't 
thinking straight. I didn't think you would understand. That's why I 
went to Angie instead of you. I guess I thought you would blame me 
and hate me. I was so young Buffy. I made so many mistakes. Alex is 
my stepfather's daughter. I found out I was pregnant the night my mom 
tried to kill me. I decided that night that I had to get my life 
together not just for me but also for the baby I was going to have. I 
wanted so much to be the kind of parent that I never had. It was hard 
knowing that I was going to have that assholes kid but I also knew 
that it was a part of me. That part won out."
"Willow why didn't you tell me?"
"We had fought that night and you told me that if I left you never 
wanted to see me again. I know now that you didn't mean it but it 
still hurt. I had to go Buffy. I couldn't do it here. Then your mom 
and Giles showed up in England on their honeymoon and she told me you 
were dating Tara and that you were happy, so I thought that it was 
best to let you be. Tara is a very sweet girl. I'm glad you had her 
to help you through things. I meet someone a little while after your 
mom left. Kim was also in the council, she was a few years older then 
I was. We were together up until a few months ago."
"What happened", Buffy asked her former girlfriend?
"She took an assignment in Spain. I didn't want to go. I grew to love 
her but we both knew that we didn't belong together. Spain was just a 
good way to let things go with us. I got an assignment that was going 
to take me out of England too, so life goes on."
Suddenly something that Giles had said came back to her, "Giles said 
that Faith was getting a new watcher, that wouldn't happen to be you 
would it?"
"Yup, I also will be teaching history at the high school next year", 
Willow said.
"You're a teacher", Buffy asked.
"Yup, I worked my ass off after I went to England. The council pulled 
some strings and got me into Oxford. I got my degree in teaching and 
minored in demonology in three years. I worked very hard and found 
out that I'm pretty damn smart." Willow noticed the look of 
admiration and smiled. Alex came flying out the backdoor and jumped 
into her mother lap, "Mom, papa Giles and papa Angel are here."
"Ok honey, I'll be just a minute." Alex kissed her on the cheek and 
then whispered in Buffy ear, "She loves you, don't let her get away", 
she kissed her and took off. Buffy watched the little girl run 
off, "You did a wonderful job with her."
"Thanks, it was hard trying to go to school and take care of her but 
I wouldn't change a thing. She was the reason I got my life together, 
her and you. Buffy, I know it has been a long time but I was 
wondering if maybe you would like to go out sometime?" 
"Why Miss Rosenberg are you asking me on a date?"
"Um yes. I mean if you have someone, I understand. I..
Buffy's kiss cut off anything else Willow might have wanted to say. 
She finally broke off the kiss and looked at Willow, "I thought you 
never ask". Buffy took her hand and walked back to their friends, 
family and their future.
