Re: FIC: Stuck In Overdrive (1/9)

Thanks for the welcome back and the crit. buddy ^_^ Good to see you again too.

Yeah cheers for the chronology corrections...heh...I did base the year off that cheerleading tryouts in 'The Witch'. And I have no idea what went wrong with the X-Man, but thanks a bunch anyway.

And you're right...Willow is abusing her powers. She shall have to be punished (again) later on.

:D

Hey Jaime,

Great to see this (and you) back again. This chapter was as delightful
as I remembered it, and, now that I've actually **seen** (and own, and
constantly rewatch) "Nightmares", even more enjoyable.

Characterwise, I particularly liked the bit where Xander considers
having made Willow smile his mission for the day. (Ties into some
thoughts I'd been having about the early W/X relationship and why he
denies a romantic aspect for so long, but that's an issue for another
list.)

A few chronology nitpicks, bearing in mind that this is an AU and you're
allowed a lot of leeway. But basically, Season 1 is established as
taking place in 1997, with Buffy as 16 (see "The Harvest" and "Witch"
for her age, "Nightmares" for her birth year [and just ignore the
miswritten signboard at the cheerleader tryouts in "Witch"]), so she
shouldn't have a '96 death year on the tombstone, nor should Xander be
17. He's 16 as late as "Reptile Boy", after all. Also, there's never
any evidence that Harmony is a cheerleader (although she's not in any
episode where Cordelia cheers, so we don't know for certain either way),
and, of course, the library doors open outwards, not in...

...sorry, I'm just overcompensating for the fact that the first time I
read this I was so new to the 'ship that I was floored by the idea of
Season 1 B/W...of course I hadn't seen the season back then...sort of
strange to remember what that was like.

In any event, I'm glad to see you've got this all sketched out now, and
I look forward to the remaining 8 parts.

Best wishes and welcome back,

Dan

PS-shouldn't the '97 setting keep us safe from "Iris", which after all
was the inescapable song of *1998*?? Hmm, sounds like Willow is using
those prophetic slayer dreams for evil purposes... :)
