Good lord I agree. I think that maybe now she's primarily attracted to
women, which is fine, but she loved Oz with her heart, soul *and* body, she
would have loved Xander similarly and that was how she loved Tara. I don't
see why so many people insist it has to be that she's EXCLUSIVELY gay or it's
somehow bad. I hope that if I ever fall in love with a man someday (seems
impossible now but who knows! Willow didn't know she could go the female way
for years!) my gay friends won't suddenly decide that I'm inferior and
abandon me. If some spell makes Willow attracted to this jock, she shouldn't
have to do a sex change spell to want to bed him. She's attracted to him or
she's not. This is a lame cop-out to recycle a plotline AND make it "PC" at
the same time. How is this "PC"? It makes no sense to me. There's NO shame
in being bisexual, just as there isn't in being homosexual, heterosexual,
transsexual, asexual, transgendered, whoever you are is who you are! I don't
think that one can suddenly "turn gay" after loving a man so thoroughly and
being hurt by him. I believe that you can realize that you are able to love
both genders, but I don't think that you will stop loving one because of the
other. Remember how complicated things were for her choosing between Oz and
Tara? If she were 100% gay, could/would she still have those feelings so
strongly for Oz? I honestly don't know.
Maybe she IS "in fact" gay after all, but if she IS "in fact" bisexual, WHY
IS IT SUCH A PROBLEM? Is Willow "exclusively" gay? How should I know? She
loved Tara, she loved Oz, she wanted Xander to love her like that. The men
don't suddenly "not count" to me. I think that Willow is bisexual as well.
I'm gay. I'm not offended by whatever her persuasion is, but I AM offended
that the writers seem to think that Willow being attracted to another man is
some hideous taboo. I've seen people display that attitude before and it
truly baffles me.
