Re: Re: FIC: Making Sense (1/1) SugarVixen
(There's a small Spoiler for "Him" below, but it's been five days and
it's buried a few paragraphs in, so I didn't do the full Spoiler Space.
Sorry, I'm lazy today :p)
Cynthia,
Well, I'm with you on Willow's mourning, we'll have to let her get over
Tara at her own pace, but--
Buffy? Boy-crazy? Not since Season 1, perhaps. Certainly the last
male she took an active interest in was Parker: Riley was there at a
time she wanted stability, and Spike just wore her down, exploiting her
depression. You'll notice that she's had six episodes this year to be
checking out guys and contemplating dating again and she, well, hasn't.
(And, since Xander is fond of mentioning *his* single status and plans
to date, she's had at least a couple of opportunities to work this into
the conversation.) No chit-chat about how cute Principal Wood is, no
fond reminisces about how RJ would have made her heart beat faster when
she was younger, nada.
Check out the RJ/"slut" scene: both Xander and Willow are very
interested in the girl (at first), but where's Buffy's appreciation of
RJ? Just the casual "he's not bad", or something like that?
Buffy doesn't seem to have any interest in men, or plans to include one
in her life anytime soon. (Unless she's earning all that money she's
getting from Xander in the bedroom, offscreen.)
You know, now that I've written this out, it almost does seem like
Buffy's just biding her time, waiting for something. Could that be for
Willow to get over mourning Tara and be ready for her? Mmm, that sounds
like a plot bunny, if anyone wants to pick it up and run with it... :)
Dan
(and anyway, we know Buffy's always been in love with Willow, and, apart
from Angel [possibly], all of her "interests" in boys have just been an
attempt to distract herself and keep her secret, right? :) )
