At six forty Xander and Anya were awakened by Jennaine who was 
crying.Xander looked over at Anya and he said I'll go get her a 
bottle of milk from the kitchen.Anya said not neccessary there are a 
couple bottles of milk in the small refrigerator Joyce had me bring 
it up here yesterday in case we needed it last night or this 
morning.Xander said ok you get a bottle and I'll go get Jennaine.Anya 
said uh huh its my turn to get Jennaine so you go get the bottle.Anya 
walked over to the baby bed and looked at Jennaine for a second.Anya 
said dont worry honey Mommy's here and your daddy is getting you your 
breakfast.Anya reached down into the baby bed and she picked up 
Jennaine as she cooed to her

Forty five minutes later Xander said Honey I'm going to go wake up 
Buffy and the others and then we can all go downstairs together.Anya 
said good idea and for once none of them will complain about being 
awakened so early.Xander leaned over and kissed both Jennaine and 
Anya before getting off the bed and heading for the door.

It took Xander about twenty minutes to go to everyone's bedroom and 
wake them up by knocking on their bedroom doors.Xander went back to 
his and Anya's bedroom and he said Anya come on we are all going to 
meet at the top of the foyer stairs.Anya said hold on i have to 
change Jennaine's shirt she just spit up on it.Xander said is she ok 
i hope she isnt sick.Anya said no she isnt sick she just had a bit 
too much to drink this morning while looking at him giving him the 
glare.Xander said ok ok next time i will listen to you when you say 
she doesnt need a second full bottle of milk.

A little while later Anya and most of the others were at the top of 
the foyer stairs waiting for Giles,Tara,Amy,and Oz to arrive.Amy,Tara,
and Oz were the last to arrive.Amy said sorry guys but we needed to 
take a shower before joining you all.Tara put her two cents in by 
saying seperate showers at that.Xander said for once I'm going to say 
lets not go there at least not this morning.They all walked 
downstairs and headed for the living room.

As they approached the living room Amy said hey wait guys me and 
Tara need to go man the video cameras before Jennaine is brought 
in.Xander said well go hurry up and lets get this show on the road.Oz 
said well I'll go plug in the christmas tree lights and turn the 
overhead lights on dimly so that we can all see.A minute later Oz 
called out to them telling them to come on in.Anya and Xander walked 
in first with Anya holding Jennaine in her arms.Buffy and the others 
followed them and they spread out around the room sitting on the 
furniture or pillows that were on the floor.

For the next twenty minutes Xander,Anya,and the others showed 
Jennaine the toys that Santa claus had brought to her and helped her 
play with them for a little while.After that Xander said lets give 
Jennaine her christmas presents.Giles said ok remeber the rules we 
made each of us goes to the pile of presents we bought and hands them 
out to the people they go to.Willow said lets wait to give 
everybody's presents except Jennaine's after all this is her first 
christmas.They all agreed and headed for the stacks of presents that 
each of them had bought.

Anya and Xander helped Jennaine open her presents for the next 
thirty minutes because she got several presents from everyone.The 
presents were a combination of sesame street toys,fisher price 
toys,video tapes of Charlie Brown's christmas,Barney,Wiggles,and 
Telletubbies,and lots of clothes.Xander looked over at Willow when he 
saw the video tape of Charlie Brown's christmas and he said i know 
that has to be from you Willow.Willow laughed and she said well i 
know Jennaine is a bit young for it but i wanted to be the one to get 
it for her.Xander said there is no such thing as being too young for 
Charlie Brown's christmas or too old for that matter.

Buffy said well now that Jennaine has gotten all her presents lets 
start passing out presents for everyone else.Willow looked at a clock 
on the wall and she saw it was eight ten.Joyce said just pass out the 
presents lets not open them up until all of them have been passed 
out.They were just finished passing out presents when the doorbell 
rang.They all looked up and Giles said who the hell could be and how 
could someone have gotten past the gate to ring the doorbell.Joyce 
said i dont know but lets go find out.

When they got to the foyer Giles deactivated the security alarm and 
then they walked into the outer foyer heading for the front door.When 
Giles opened the door he was completely shocked at seeing one of the 
last people he had ever expected to see ever again.It took him a few 
seconds to get over his shocked state and he said Lady Croft this is 
a surprise.Lara Croft said Rupert please call me Lara like you used 
to back at the London Museum or otherwise i will be forced to 
retaliate and call you Mr.Giles.Giles said of course Lara and then he 
said will you please come in.Lara said oh yes but first i think you 
should see something that is out here.Lara stepped back and to the 
side and Giles walked out of the house followed by all the 
others.Giles looked around and to his much surprise saw an Aston 
Martin DB8 vantage coupe parked about thirty feet away from him.The 
next second Willow and the others all yelled Merry Christmas 
Giles.Giles turned to look at them and Joyce said Giles we all 
chipped in and bought it for you.Giles said lets go inside its pretty 
chilly out here.Lara said dont you want to look at it.Giles said of 
course i do but it can wait.Lara said come on Giles lets go look at 
it I know you like a good set of wheels as much as i do.Buffy said go 
on Giles we will wait for you in the living room.

Giles and Lara walked over to the Aston Martin and they started 
walking around it looking it over.Giles looked at Lara after a few 
minutes and he said Lara may i ask how you found out where i was.Lara 
said well it took me a while to find out through my sources and i 
finally did about two weeks ago.Giles said do you need my help or 
something.Lara said yes i do need your help and that is why i called 
over here a week and a half ago trying to reach you.Giles started to 
get angry and he said no one told me you had called if they had i 
would have immedietly returned your call as soon as i got the 
message.Lara said call down Giles i didnt leave a message you see i 
decided to come out here and surprise you after talking to a young 
woman named Willow.Lara said when i mentioned that i might come 
surprise you she told me about the car they had bought you and asked 
if i would like to drive it here.Giles said of course you jumped at 
the chance and Lara said you know me oh so well Rupert.Giles said 
lets go inside where its warm Lara and we can go up to the library 
where you can tell me what you need my help with.Lara said we can do 
that later first lets go join the others we dont want to keep them 
waiting too long from opening their presents do we.Giles said no we 
mustnt not after i have already gotten my present.Lara said oh here 
and she handed him the keys to the Aston Martin.Giles said before we 
go inside do we need to get your suitcase or anything out of the 
car.Lara said thats not neccessary its fine where it is and anyway 
one of you can drive me to the motel later on today.Giles would hear 
of no such thing and he said nothing doing we have plenty of room 
here so you will be staying with us.Lara said are you sure i wont be 
putting anyone out.Giles said Lara we have over a dozen extra 
bedrooms we dont use and anyway its the safest place in the whole 
town.Lara said ok i except your offer and then they went over to the 
Aston Martin and got her suitcase and attache case out of it.

When they walked into the house Giles asked Lara if she first wanted 
to be shown to a room she could use or join the others.Lara said I 
can see my room later but is it ok if i leave my suitcase and attache 
case here.Giles said its perfectly ok to leave it where ever you want 
and dont worry this place has as very good security system which he 
then switched on.

Giles led Lara into the living room where the others were 
sitting.Giles and Lara sat down on the leather couch which had enough 
openings for them to sit comfortably.Joyce said Giles would you or 
Miss.Croft like some tea i made some while you were outside in case 
you might want some.Giles said yes i would and then he looked over at 
Lara.Lara said may i ask what kind of tea it is.Joyce said its Giles 
favorite type of tea i think its called earl grey or something like 
that.Lara smiled and she said in that case i would love a cup of 
tea.Lara saw that Giles was still looking at her and he said i have 
never heard of you turning down a cup of tea no matter what kind it 
was.Lara said i never have as of yet but yesterday i got a surprise 
when i asked for tea at a small dinner club in Los Angeles.Giles said 
what was the surprise.Lara said they brought me something that wasnt 
tea at all at least nothing like any tea i have ever had.Joyce caught 
on and she said did it by any chance have alcohol in it.Lara said boy 
did it and a combination of different types too.Buffy laughed and 
said Lara you were given something us Californians call Long Island 
iced tea its an alcoholic tea beverage.Joyce added into the 
conversation by saying its five percent tea and ninety five percent 
alcohol.Joyce poured them each a cup of earl grey tea and handed it 
to them along with a small dish that they could put the cups down on.

For the next thirty minutes they opened up presents.Everyone had 
gotten clothes some of which were Sophie's creations that they had 
bought for each other.Willow looked around the room and she said guys 
i bet Sophie was laughing her head off when we all asked her to send 
us clothes for each other.Xander was more than happy with his present 
from Buffy and Willow.It took Anya reminding him that the police gun 
range was closed today to keep him from going out there to shoot it a 
couple times.Joyce also told him and everyone else that christmas 
lunch would be at precisely eleven o'clock and that they had all 
better be there or else.

Giles and Lara excused themselves from the others and Giles said 
come on Lara lets go up to the library so you can tell me what you 
need my help with.As they walked into the foyer Giles picked up her 
suitcase and attache case and said I'll show you to your room on the 
way.As they were walking up the stairs Lara said this is a very large 
house.Giles said its more of an American style estate but smaller 
than the ones we have back in England.Lara said Giles may i ask why 
you left the London Museum so abruptly.Giles stopped walking and 
looked at Lara.Giles said i was called to active duty by the 
watcher's council they assigned me to an american slayer.Lara looked 
at him and he said you cant possibly mean that one of those women 
down there is a slayer.Giles said yes one of them is a slayer and a 
very good one at that.Lara said may i ask which one was it and how 
old she was when she was called.Giles said Buffy is the slayer and 
she was fifteen years old when she was called.Lara said but all of 
them look to be in their twenties or just under.Giles said all of 
them except Jennaine are twenty four or older.Lara said thats 
completely astounding Buffy must be one of the oldest slayers to have 
survived so long.Giles said you are correct much to the 
dissatisfaction and unhappiness of the watcher's council.Lara said 
what do you mean.Giles said Buffy broke all ties to the watcher's 
council on her eighteenth birthday which by the way is the same time 
that i was fired from the watcher's council.Giles said come on lets 
continue this conversation in the library at least there we can be 
comfortable.
