realisations part 1

She stumbled along in the darkened alley, trying desperately to hold the pain back long enough to find help. Her hand was clutched to her side in a vain attempt to stop the flow of blood pouring out of her. The pain was almost unbearable as the blood seeped out between her fingers, staining her top and running down her side. It was like someone had rammed a red hot steel poker into her side and moved it around a bit. Unfortunately for Willow, this was not far from the truth.

As she made her way down the alley visions of the few minutes leading up to now flooded through her mind.

"Hey Red" Willow jumped as she heard the familiar voice. She turned around to face this threat, knowing she had little chance of escaping unscathed.

"Faith!" She squeaked, her mind trying to find an escape route and desperately trying to hold back the fear.

She was getting extremely dizzy from the blood loss. She looked down at the hand she had been clutching her wound with. She saw three separate hands, all of which were dripping with blood. Her blood. She put her hand to her side again, still trying to halt the flow of blood and staggered on.

"You remember when you said you weren't afraid of me? I told you that we'd have to see about that? Well, guess what? Times up, Red. Now, we're gonna see what we can do about that fear." Sneered Faith as she drew her dagger, the steel shining in the moonlight.

She was seeing triple, and didn't know how much longer she could go on, the pain flowing through her was so intense. She looked around her, trying to find someone, anyone who could help her, but there was no one. She was alone.

Faith saw the fear in her eyes and knew that she was going to get her revenge on the redhead. She could almost taste the fear on the air and she liked it. Without further thought she lunged forward and stuck the knife into her up to the hilt. Seeing the pain and fear in the witch's eyes, she smiled before withdrawing the knife and running off, satisfied with a job well done.

Willow collapsed, her body could no longer function with so much blood missing. There was so much she wanted to do with her life, she couldn't die here in some alley. She wanted to fight the good fight, grow old and die with the person she loved, not here in some alley. She thought of all the people in her life and how much pain they'd be in, and she felt intensely sorry for them. Oz. He would be devastated, and become even more of a monosyllabic person than he already was. Xander. He would be gutted. He wouldn't be able to function, he'd just shut down. She went through all the people that were important to her, but it wasn't until she came to Buffy, that the realisation hit home. Even though she lay there dying, she felt guilty over leaving Buffy. The thought that she would be the cause of so much pain in Buffy's life was more than she could take. As she thought about Buffy, she was suddenly hit by the simple truth of the matter. She was in love with her best friend, her Buffy, her Slayer. The thought that she would die, alone, unloved and without letting Buffy know how she felt seemed to cause the physical pain she was feeling to subside. It was replaced by an emotional pain, a pain that was ten times worse that that coming from the wound in her side. She hated herself for not realising sooner, and telling Buffy. That hate soon made way to the blackness that overtook her.

hope you enjoyed. if u did let me no, and more will be coming your way soon
