I wouldn't be. Spike's fanbase has grown with his "push", much as 
you and I may dislike the changes in the character. It's the 
redemption-seeking shmoopy boy who's getting this applause, I figure.

This appalls me just on general principles. The show isn't 
called "Spike". Your lead character should always be the most 
popular on the show, even if certain sections of the fandom enjoy one 
of the supports more. (And I don't know that I'm a bigger Willow fan 
than I am of Buffy, counting only the few seasons I acknowledge these 
days. I love them both, and Xander and Cordy too.)

Just more proof that they're writing Spike as the lead these days.
